As one who needs a bra I rather like the Playtex Cross Your Heart bras with the stretch straps. The lightly lined is nice in the winter (cozy) and the lace version is more suited to warm weather. There is another model "Nobody's Perfect" that I wear on occasion but it doesn't fit as well. I find that almost all bras have straps that are pitifully short so I really look for the ones with stretch straps although they're probably not the sexiest around. When you get to my size (44B) almost all are rather matronly. I wear enhancers now and then but I much prefer it to be "all me."

Yesterday I bougt two new bras (along with panties) at department stories. One I bought afeter reading anouthers post. Longline Posture Bra.
Yet when I got home and opened the box the size on the bra and the one labeled on the box where different. Just to make sure I was crazy I tried it on. A slightly tight fit the longline is 40B. I am going to take in back to exchange it for the right size. The intersting thing is that I also got a mail in rebeate for a free bra. It has a spot for Size (I know this) then Style (I do not know this).

Can any one help with this part.

Goddess and Glamorise?

Post by Celly »

Love the Goddess bras but the cups are soooooo large that I've never found one even remotely close to fitting. I'm tempted to try the Glamorise bra but hesitate to venture $30 for something that may not fit. I know I can send it back but I feel so badly when I must return one.
Incidently, went for a fitting several years back after querying the owner and honestly stating my case - that I had been wearing bras for years but had never been fitted. She was very nice, made an appointment for near closing and said that "she accepted it (men wearing bras) but really didn't understand it." She took time with me and I bought two Airway bras from her that were pretty comfortable but didn't do much for me personally. At first, she tried the "add 5 inches to the underbust measurement," and I wound up trying a 48B. She let me use the inserts and I looked like a Jersey cow. I don't think she ever understood that I didn't want to use padding - I much preferred that it be all me.

My wife's favorite bra is the Bali Double Support. I bought her one in each color (a total of 6) and helped her break in one of them. She doesn't like underwire models and on a couple of occasions she borrowed back a Bali underwire she gave to me.

My favorite bras are my 2 FULLY longline posture bras - a black one from a Burlington Coat Factory store that has the exquisite form name on the label, and a white one I got from the closeout section of Blair with the Vanity Fair Woman name on the label. Besides the color, they are exactly the same construction and have the same style number.

Be sure to check the closeout sections of online merchants and regular stores - the 2 FULLY longlines cost a little over $10 each.

Hint - Goodwill stores are the recipient of some brand new merchandise that didn't sell from retailers. Around my area Goodwill stores seem to have more bras, etc. than Salvation Army. You may be lucky enough to find some that still have the retail store tags (TJ Max in my area).

Happy bargain hunting!

Jessie,

I do my bargain shopping in the closeout sections of the following places:

http://www.blair.com

I also buy some items from their regular sections. Look carefully - a couple of times I've seen an item listed more than once (by itself, and also as part of a group of related items) at different prices.

http://www.oldpueblotraders.com

I consider their regular prices a little high, but their closeout section has some real bargains. I have bought a few cute pairs of size 10W shoes there for under $15 each, also several dresses/skirts.

http://www.lanebryantcatalog.com

Nice closeouts and they have occasional email specials. One inconvenience - I have to put an item in the shopping basket to check availabilty. Another inconvenience - if closeouts are no longer in stock, I sometimes don't find out until I receive the shipment minus the items they are out of.

http://www.shopnational.com

They seem to have the lowest prices on lingerie and I also buy gartered stockings from them. Their prices/selection of dresses/tops/skirts and shoes don't rank that high on my list, but that's just my taste.

http://www.onehanesplace.com

I get some of my gartered stockings and some lingerie there. I'm not a big fan of their clothing, but that's my taste

I hope this provides a couple of leads for you to follow. I get catalogs each of them (plus a lot more places) and some of the catalogs have codes for sales and discounts.

Happy bargain hunting,

Jadeanne
