Panties....Why can't I find my size? Help!

Post by JennyLynn »

I order all my panties online and the sizing is killing me. I have a size 30 hips, but like my panties to fit a little snug to keep the boys in. I like the boy shorts and silky. Womens sizes go down to usually size 6 or 5. I've tried the 6 and they're too big. Anyone have any suggestions? I still think a 5 would be a bit big, but can't find a 4. Maybe juniors? But then the sizes change again. Anyone my size? I'm 5'8" tall with a slim build and the 30" hips. Please help! I've wasted sooooo much money!

Try Victoria Secrets. They have a size 4.

Sizing charts online are hit and miss. According to some charts, I should wear anywhere from a 13 to a 15, however, I wear a size 9 in the brands I buy.

First, stop buying your panties online. Measure your waist and hips. You might want to measure your rise as well so you can determine where the panties will come to at your waist. Take the tape measure with you to the stores. Measure your choices of panties. Blush if you have to, but it's just too easy to get your panties if you go to the stores. If all else fails ask a sales lady for help; confirm the return policy or maybe try the panties on at the store. Now I have to admit, you being the little soul you are, I'm not sure what store you'd be going to that would be used to a guy (going in drab??) wanting to try things on. It doesn't mean they won't let you.

BTW, almost every single online sale has a return policy. If you aren't going to go to the stores and still have to buy online then try buying your panties when shipping is free coming and going.

Why have you wasted all that money when there are returns??

Good luck with the hunting. I'm kinda jealous :) I'm overstocked so I won't be pantie shopping any time soon.

JennyLynn,

I have gone to the store (wallmart) and picked out some chepo's at first in a couple of sizes to try on. You can also read the packaging it will usall tell you what hip mesurement fits what size you need. I tend to say away from the boy shorts as for me the tend to roll up on my legs (not comforable). I like the full coverage pantys more so as there is more fabric that careses me. More important better to hold in what we have if you follow that. Good Luck in finding what you are looking for.

Hugs,

Erica

Try the Vanity Fair from Macy's Size 5, this is the smallest they make.

and don't forget that there is a big difference in the way different styles of panties fit. If you buy a high cut that fits around the waist it will be a lot different in measurement than a low cut string bikini. Women generally have more difference in size between their waist and hips than you may have. And different brands fit differently too.
I would not recommend boy shorts for keeping things in, they are cut the wrong way and are intentionally loose around the bottom. Start with just a plain cheap brief until you figure out what works for you.

The cut and style of the panty also has to do with keeping the boy in Jenny. Boy cut does not do it for me. I wear a bikini cut. I was once advised that my panties should be a size smaller than my bra size. This also works for me. As suggest buy some cheap panties direct from shop and experiment with their comfort.

I gave up trying to find some lacy ones that fit! Sizing with various styles seem to be all over the place so I just wear pantyhose every day, all day!

yes, panty hose works well. Shapewear also works to keep things in place, if you are willing to admit that you need it, and that you are not the young hot chic who has it all together that you wanted to be :P
Sometimes we just can't wear that cute little thing that we want to, reality sucks that way.......................

Hi JennyLynn,

Perhaps I can help. First, go to Sister House and look at the post on All About Sizing (http://www.sisterhouse.net/library/2013 ... /#post-293" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). Then read the post on Panty Fitting that I've just added.

* Extensive self-promotion of your web site has been deleted. You may start a topic in Links of Interest about Sister House with a link and a brief description of the site, but that is all. [-( - SL

Some other hints. Buying those cheapies at the discount store won't necessarily solve your problem. All manufacturers size differently. My wife, for instance prefers Vanity Fairs and wears nothing but them because she knows the fit. So find a brand that you like and stick with them. In addition to the specialty shops, You might want to consider the plus-size stores. Lane Bryant's Cacaique line is sexy, has matching bra and panties and fit well. Once you are comfortable with the brand and fit, no problem shopping online because you know what works for you and your choices are much greater. Many stores carry 50% more on line than is in their brick and mortar stores. I also have a lot of sales on lingerie on Sister House - check the sales sections frequently. Before buying also be sure that you know your waist and hip measurements. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Put on your big girl panties and .... oh wait you can not do that.

Then go to a full service store and "ask for help" so you can put on your big girl panties that fit.
