Larger breasts

I have always gone to the smaller size when dressing, I wear 38B forms and bra and have for probably the past 25 years or so.. Lately for some reason I have been thinking what it would be like to be one of those more endowed ladies. I have resolved to go larger just to try it but am at somewhat of a dilemma as how big to go. I don't want to look like a cow or out of place so I am wondering if any of you can offer some advice.

I am 62 and dress age appropriate, well most of the time I stand 5'8" in my stocking feet and weigh, well maybe I could stand to lose a few pounds. I can wear a size 12 well with the proper padding and a comfortable with that. Do you think a D cup would work on me or would that be too big? Also if any of you could recommend a style or brand of forms that will give me that mature look? At my age perky is not what most women are and I feel that fitting in is important in public. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Like you I wear a size 12 in a dress so go for it girl, heck when I go out nobody turns a head or look twice.

Oh this is a fun subject! Before I knew about it, my husband experimented with really huge breasts using bird or grass seed in my old panty hose and bras. I'm glad that admission came out well after acceptance. I wonder if most CD's try out large breasts at first? Anyway, he is 5' 10" and wears a 16-18 dress. With the typical male wide shoulders, a D cup looks proportional. He prefers a DD, still looks good with the right outfit. Big, yes, but no more than the average larger woman.
You could pad up the forms you have and experiment before buying new ones.

I'll not mention the brand of forms he has, unless it's OK. But they seem good quality and have the right shape for the mature look. As an early developed young girl, I don't recall ever having the 'perky' look.

I don't want to look like a cow or out of place so I am wondering if any of you can offer some advice.

Eileen I by no means I meant no disrespect to you well endowed women. My "cow" comment was actually more to some of the "overly endowed" crossdressers I remember seeing at some of the bars and such. What I meant by that comment is I want to look somewhat natural and not out of place or blatantly "out there" .

I was once told big girl, big boobs; small girl, small boobs. So you just have to figure out if your small or large!!

Ok, kidding aside. If your goal is to look proportionately reasonable there doesn't seem to be any real guidelines. So I have done some field studies and this is my current theory. Call it the Kelly Elbow Test.

Raise your arm up so that it is parallel to the floor. If your bust line is less the 1/4 the way from shoulder to elbow, then larger forms are in order. If the bust is over 3/4, then the forms are too large. My current thought is that ideal is somewhere between 1/3 and 2/3 (where 2/3 is pushing the boundary). The reality norm is slightly under 1/2. Sorry about all the fractions and wide tolerances. It is not like I stopped women and said, "excuse me ma'm would you hold your arm out while I get out my tape measure". It is all discrete observation and guesstimating.

This works because your arm is usually in pretty good proportion with the rest of your body structure.

That's all well and good. If you are dealing with doing an internet order and there is a no return policy then just get what you really want! And have fun doing it.

I'm sure you meant no offense, and none taken, Trudy. But I did need to tease you! My hubby has shared photos and descriptions of CD's gone bust envy. It does look ridiculous and obviously fake. Couple that and clothing too tight, you have a disaster in presentation.
In choosing larger forms, consider that you might also have to replace much of your wardrobe. Few catalogs feature larger models, so every cute dress or blouse, you have to consider how it looks on big boobies.
As I said earlier, my guy mostly wears DD forms and looks great. Not only wide shoulders of the typical male, also a bigger torso. smaller forms get lost on his frame. Maybe my perspective is skewed anyway.

Kelly, I'm above average in math, but do poorly at word problems. If I've got the description right, my bust line is past 3/4. With back and shoulders against a wall, I'm close to 7/8. Does the Kelly Elbow Test compensate for the longer arms that men have over women?

Well Eileen, you have mentioned several times that you are well endowed, now you have the numbers to back it up!

As you mentioned, on a large torso smaller forms get lost. But ones arms are, generally, longer when they hang off a large torso.

Think of the da Vinci drawing of the Vitruvian Man, which describes the relationship between body parts. That is where I came up with this silly set of guide lines. I was looking for the "normal" set of figure related proportions. E.g. hips, waist, and breasts. Unfortunately, Vitruvius (a first century architect) didn't include these is his specs; thus the 'research' project.

Hips & waist are easy to find on the internet. But mum is the word for bust line. Are the fractions I through out, right? Don't know; but its the best guess so far.

But, back to Trudy's question. With a large torso (or long arms) a D cup is ok. Otherwise go with a C. The caveat about wardrobe should not be ignored. When I have tried larger forms, the buttons on a blouse are straining to stay in place.

In my first response, I said this is a fun subject. Why? After most of a life time being self conscious with early development and aggressive growth, it took quite awhile to accept what nature gave. After discovering my husband's dressing, and his breast size preference, I was thinking, 'is that all it means to be female? Big boobies?'
Just going by what my husband has confided, the new CD's tend to go big in the breast, too tight, short skirts and looks silly. After reality sets in, and the desire to blend in public, the focus is more on make up and presentation.

Wasn't there a female version of the Vitruvian Man? I relate more closely to the Rubenesque models.
But, and butt, I've seen Cd's with the typical wide shoulders, larger breasts and skinny little man butts. Ladies, please try to be proportional to blend in.

Oh my! I surely never thought such an innocent question would set off such a deep discussion! I am a engineer with two degrees and I still don't really understand what the heck Kelly was getting at with arms and elbows and the like! I guess I am just going to have to play around and see what I like. Not giving up my B cups but I did order a cheap set of D cup forms from E-Bay. Not sure how they are going to look but I do know when I told my gentleman friend he smiled from ear to ear. Have to get a couple of new bras to fit them before they get here so I can give them a fair shake. All jokes aside, thanks all who replied and offered up suggestions.

Gee I wish I was a size 12 cow, but that's another thread. I have opted to be undersized rather than oversized. I have to lug these girls around all day when I load my bras. Also as Eileen says (I think it was anyway) the dress has to fit. Big girls stick out more which means neck lines stick out more in some fashions. When that happens, you have to worry about who's seeing what down your top.

When I first got my girls, I got them at a masectomy salon. What better way to know if you're getting the right size than having a professional do the fitting? The bottom line... Don't be your own judge; have a friend who's going to be honest with you tell you if you have the right size.

I'm actually 5ft 6in and my size of choice has been 38D. It's to do with balancing the look with my shoulders. Not that I am particularly broad-shouldered, but somehow the general solidity of my body needs significant changes before it can look female.

But the thing I think a lot of CDs forget is that women also have much wider hips than men. So you see "well-endowed" CDs boob-wise with skinny little hips. It's like in our desire to have boobs we forget about the general body-shape of women. Like there is a distinct CD style, which might in a way be construed as looking like a "cow" because the bust is so disproportionate. That would be how I would take Trudy's perception - as referring to CDs specifically rather than GGs.

FWIW I think 38C might be my long-term best size. It's easier to get hips big enough to make that look alright.

Absolutely right, Anthony! While some women are not big upstairs, most have larger a hip structure. Especially after having children. It took some time to explain to my dear husband that padded panties are not the same. He needed more in the hips to match what was on top. Nobody is perfectly proportional. And given the price difference between silicone breasts and foam hip pads, invest in some hips. Gives a nice extra sway to the skirt!

Be careful what you wish for Trudy! When I started HRT almost 12 years ago my doctors told me because of my advanced age, 49 at the time, I shouldn't expect a lot. I guess they didn't understand heredity. I have 3 older sisters all who were blessed by the booby fairy as my mother used to say. Well here I am 12 years in and I am a 36D , all from hormones. Don't get me wrong I love them but they can be a pain too!

After a day on my feet my back aches. If I buy a dress I had better plan on wearing a minimizer bra if I don't have to have it altered to properly fit. They do get in the way, try playing golf and swinging around the girls as I call them. Men are always talking to your chest not your face. You really can't wear any of those cute little tops. If I buy a suit I have to buy separates as I am a 12 on the bottom and a 14 or more on top.

Big breasts are not for the timid as my sisters have told me. But I do look like part of the family now.

Not to lose sight of Trudy's initial question of preferable size. Stores that sell forms will let you try on different sizes. The big size you might like has the fashion restrictions mentioned. Unless you pad the bottom and become all one size, top and bottom. Even if you change your mind later on, new forms and selling the old ones are an option that HRT, implants, and GG's don't have. The end result, Trudy, is for you to become comfortable in the way you look.

My husband asked I include some advice. Don't buy the 'naughty nipples' option. They look unnatural and hooker like.
