Eye make-up

Looking for advice on eye make-up. Specifically what do you recommend that is easily removed without a trace...right now the only make up I wear is lipstick and I think some eye-liner etc., could help my femme look a bit.

Most all of it (not labeled permanent) is easy to remove, all you need is a good makeup remover. Baby oil, ponds cold cream, olive oil, Almay, Neutrogena. etc.

If you are using eye liner, how are you removing it?

For all my years, I use a powder and a brush for eye liner. I just don't like the pencils or the liquids.

I use both the pencil and the crayon type, bit of advice until you master the crayon type stay alway from the hard pencil type as you could put your eye out very easy. Nothing to fool around with when you are a beginner .

As Donna stated, everything can be removed, with patience and the right remover. Products work differently for each skin type. And don't wait till the last minute or be too aggressive, the skin around your eyes is sensitive and will redden. Pick a day all to yourself and experiment.
Cotton swaps, buy them by the hundreds.

I wear eye liner, eye shadow and mascara. Ordinary baby oil removes all of them easily.

Pretty much there are two types of eye makeup -- water proof and not water proof. I stay away from the water proofs. I use soap and water and wash off all my makeup at once -- face and all. And yeah, oils take off eye makeup (pretty good at it and easily), but then you might need to take the oils off as well if your complexion is oily to start with.

I always used pencil eye liner but was not ever real happy with the results. I just switched to jell liner with a little brush just made for this. The results are dramatic. I can get right up next to the edge of the lower eyelid without getting too far inside. It sets almost instantly and doesn't smudge. I even wore it to bed and slept all night and it was still perfect.

To remove it I use baby oil followed with baby shampoo. "No tears in baby shampoo!"
A little baby oil on one end of a Q-tip will erase any errors and then remove the oil with the dry end.

I have the mineral powder and also some liquid foundation but my skin is darker than most women, I think I would have to see a cosmetician to get the correct color.

I have an eyebrow kit which has a little brush to brush a selection of powder light to dark brown into the brows that work well, they are easy and wash right out. Most of the time I am lazy and just use a little mascara to give shape and definition to my rather sparse and light eyebrows and the results are equally as good. I know how to shape by plucking but I no longer pull out wild hairs just trim them but I do pull out white ones.

Lipstick - well is so easy anybody can do it but I suppose there are lip liners glosses and stains but I have no problems with that.

I suppose my big question is how to do eye shadow properly. I have brown eyes and dark brown brows. Eye shadow seems a little more complex, I mean I know there are blues, greys, browns, greens reds...shimmery, glittery, pink....then there is the under layer I think that is light. The question about having a special brush to push the powder into the crease of the eyelid, does it go right up to the brow or is it just supposed to go on the eyelid? Anyway I am at a loss on this if anyone out there can make it simple and straight forward.

Maybelline has or had a mascara called "Unstoppable" that comes off more easily with soap and water than any other I've used. I've taken to applying hard pencil eyeliner with an eyeliner brush, best of both worlds, cheap and no danger of poking an eye.

IMHO, eye shadow is primarily about self expression and self indulgence. For average wear, use a bold color on the lid alone (blues for me), add a lighter pink or something from the lid crease out to the brow to make the eye area look lighter. For evenings and parties, bolder is better, and metallics are sometimes acceptable, depending on venue. Just don't go to Midnight Mass looking like Jezebel

Hahahahahaha I think of the Blondie song about Red eye shadow green mascara...yuck..too much...Rip her to shreds.... Or the famous Brit drag queen - she overdoes her eyes too...

Nah...I know done right it is part of full make up, I think of light make-up as being little to no foundation just mascara and lipstick, could be wrong about that. But ladies wear eye shadow for everyday and if done right it does not look over the top.

Baby oil does the trick for me. I really should use as much eye makeup as I do because of my (usually) large frames. I even use mascera.

I have been watching ladies on TV, as a caregiver I don't get out much. Anyway you see it when they look down on the eyelids and I have noticed shades of brown and blue, not sure what is best or if it should relate to your own eyecolor....bronze?? Baby oil?? hum...to clean or...??
