Well, I kept my cool, and acted as if nothing was out of the ordinary. Though I couldn't help but mention that I thought he wasn't coming until the next day. It wasn't until he'd been there a while that he said "so,that's quite a skirt you're wearing." I just said 'yes, it's sort of something I do." We had a normal conversation, and when I came to a break in the cooking , I offered him a glass of wine. He declined, opting for a glass of water. I got wine for myself. I needed it. I came back in with the wine, sat down in a chair , and said, "So, yeah, I'm kind of a crossdresser." And went on to explain that my wife and son (who were both home at the time) were fine with it. He didn't react much, but we continued our conversation as we usually would. Since then I have spoken with him twice and it was business as usual. He always was an open minded guy, so I guess we're cool.
When He left, My wife asked me how I was doing. I was smiling. My Brother was the last person in my close circle, except for my father in law ,who is in assisted living, that didn't know I was a CD. I had agonized over telling him, but hadn't, because we don't live that close to each other, and I couldn't come up with a way that I could justifiably spring it on him. My little mistake solved the problem. I'm feeling quite lucky and liberated right now. Everybody with a dog in the fight knows.
