Meeting Mom for breakfast

Post by Heather W »

After some thought last night I called my mother to talk about how she felt after my coming out to her a few weeks ago. She said she still had some very mixed emotions about it but her main concern was my happiness and she was trying to accept all of this. I told her I was still unsure about if I wanted to go further with everything in the future but for right now I was content being Heather part time. She then dropped the bomb and told me she was surprised it wasn't Heather for her birthday dinner. I told her I had thought about it but decided to let it be her to kind of tell me how involved she wanted to be with that side of me. Again she told me she wasn't sure how "involved" she wanted to get but she did say se wanted to get to know Heather better.

Well one thing lead to another and to make long story short Heather is having breakfast with her mother this morning. I have to tell you I am more than a bit nervous and a little scared but maybe the time is right. We are meeting at a place she knows where I am an unknown either way there. Planning on a longer khaki skirt with a sweater, tights and boots. Figured it was a nice casual outfit for a Saturday breakfast with Mom.

Take it at your own pace and see where it goes. It does seem kind of remarkable she expected Heather.

Typical Mom. Worried about your happiness first, before herself. Have a wonderful breakfast!

Just got home from my breakfast with my mother. Mom was very open to me and we talked and ate for well over an hour. We decided rather than take up a booth just chit chatting we would go somewhere more conducive to talking personal things, her house. She told me that although she was still a bit puzzled as to the whys she was willing to accept Heather but not an every time thing. I told her I was still puzzled with the whys even after all these years. She said sometimes Heather would be welcome and others she may want to see her son. I told her from now on I would call and we would talk about who was coming and she seemed happy with that. It is Heather again going tomorrow over to her place for Sunday dinner with her and my sister. I know Melissa will be happy to see Heather. Now the big question, what should I wear?

Heather, nice meeting u in the chat today.

What to wear? The girl version of what your boy side would. If Sunday is a jeans day then wear jeans. Oh, and gosh forbid you wear the exact outfit your sister is wearing :)

Sounds like it went well for you with your Mother Heather, I am happy for you. :) As Trudy said cherish her as you never know how long you will have her. My mother passed away a little over 10 years ago and I still miss her. Enjoy your dinner tomorrow with mom and your sister and keep us updated on how things are going. Sounds like you know where you are in life and am enjoying it.

Sounds like things are going well for you Heather. :) Remember to take it slowly and surely, you want your mother on your side so show her you can be the daughter she would expect to have. Take your cues from your sister, after all she has been her daughter a lot longer than you have and knows what your mother expects.

Definitely something classy and ladylike. I have always found it better to err on the side of caution when unsure of what to wear. Go maybe even a little on the conservative side. Again take your cue from your sister, what will she be wearing?

Sunday dinner with Mom and my sister went very well. :) It was like I had been her daughter all my life the way she treated me. I knew my sister would be cool with everything but I never dreamed Mom would be this good about it all. As she made dinner I went into the kitchen as always but rather just sit at the table and talk I helped out like my sister always has. It was a bit strange a first being in my mother's kitchen in a dress and heels helping set the table and make the salad but what else is a daughter to do when she is having Sunday dinner at her mother's house? :-k When I left Mom gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek and told me "Now don't be a stranger Heather". I take that to mean she expects Heather from time to time like she and I talked about yesterday.

I took your advice ad went conservative Diana. Black knee length skirt, red sweater, black tights and my black knee high leather boots. I figured my sister would be dressed similarly and she was as was Mom. No one ever said a word about how I was I dressed but by the smile both of the gave me when I got there I took it to mean they approved.

I dunno about coming out to Mom - I no longer have one living. But my wife - that would be a disaster to come out visually - she knows of my femme desire - no way does she want that. So coming out would mean forsaking family to live in TG world - a huge sacrifice.
