Pantyhose without panties

As maybe a younger member of this forum I grew up in an era where females never wore panties under their pantyhose. I generally wear Leggs Silken Mist control tops without panties. I do have to admit I find the look of a pair of white panties under black pantyhose sexy or vice versa. Generally it is without panties but I have gone both ways.

I do both, only for the fact that depends on my mood. I feel like wearing panties under my pantyhose or not. I love the look of just pantyhose without, but depends on my mood at the time.

I tend not too worry too much about panties as I like the finished look of a nice dress or blouse and skirt, so panties don't usually fit in the grandiose picture.

Now if we were talking shoes and boots. OMG!!! lol... Not only do I have a shoe fetish, but I also love (never done it) but would love to lick a ladies shoe (heel) longer the better while she wears them.

I prefer panties under the pantyhose - the comfort of support and it is more sanitary but that is a personal choice.

I remember when the Underalls rage hit and just about every woman had to at least try them. Personally I generally wear panties under my pantyhose although I have and still do go sans panties under certain outfits for fear of the dreaded VPL! Thank heavens I don't have those extra pieces so I can skip a girdle and just rely on my control tops, although I God knows maybe I should wear one with certain outfits!

Several of you have raised the hygiene issue. I don't know about you but my pantyhose has a cotton crotch as do my panties and I wash them after wearing them regardless of whether I had panties on under them or not! I use the same Woolite as I do for my panties so what is the issue?

I wear the panties over the panty hose but now that I have seen what most girls wear them I might actually wear them the other way and see how they feel and just make a personal choice in the matter. Right now I am wearing tights and panties and the panties are over the tights, lol

So many responses refer to appearance and less of hygiene. A clean pair of panties goes on first, if they are sexy, silky, or frilly, then garters should be worn. That little patch of cotton in panty hose won't do much to keep yourself clean throughout the day. Changing panties each day is much easier and less expensive than washing hosiery.
I never heard of such a thing as wearing panties over hose.

It is all about personal preference and what works best for each individual.

I still don't understand the debate over wearing proper underwear. A proper woman wears panties always, unless you intend on flashing the kittie, (read as slut) You want to dress as a woman? Wear panties, put on first. Really, what are you going to flash anyway?

I'm sorry if this seems like a GG rant. There does seem to be two, or more, views on dressing as a female. Looking as a female or looking like an available female. One is to be in public an experience life as a woman. The other is for a sexual experience. My husband dresses as a mainstream woman, best as he can. In that respect, I have become supportive in his needs.
Most respectful woman wear underwear. If the husband should wish to dress as female without underwear, that sends a much different signal than just a 'girls night out'.

I for one am with you Eileen , a proper lady always wears here panties and I put mine on after I get my stockings hooked up. Now PH which I hate but at times must wear them, panties always go on first IMO.

I do agree with Eileen and Carol Ann . . . a proper lady always wears panties . . . going commando is akin to being a slut.

For me, the personal preference 'debate' - if there is one - is how one wears panties with pantyhose.

There are more pantyhose with the built-in 'panty' and if I'm wearing a snug-fitting formal dress then I'm not going to wear panties. The addition of panty lines will ruin the overall look of the formal dress, and it's bad enough that the waistline of the pantyhose is being revealed.

However, if I'm wearing pantyhose with other outfits that involve wearing a shirt or blouse then I tend to wear panties *over* my pantyhose for one simple reason: I tuck my shirt or blouse (and/or camisole) into the panties to keep them in place . . . I hate it when my shirt/blouse keeps pulling out of my slacks or skirts and I have to keep tucking it back down.

That shirt-tucking trick was one I learned back in the 9th grade girls' gym locker room . . . one that I use daily and will continue to use until my last dying breath.
