I wish I could remember when it started but my best guess is sometime between the age of 7 and 9. My sister, who is 20 years older then me, had gotten married and moved out. She had been like a 2nd mom to me and I missed her so much. I would sneak into her room when my family wasn’t around and touch her things.
One day I opened her closet and took out her prom dress. It was a pink late 60’s tea length dress with crinoline. Since then I have always loved crinoline. My mother had some wigs she never used anymore and some of my sister’s panties and bras were still in the drawers.
You can only imagine what happened next. That one dress and a few of my sisters other items were all I had and I loved them. I convinced my parents to let me move into my sister’s room but didn’t move any of her things out. That room and my time alone there was my sanctuary. I also asked my mother what I would have been named if I had been born a girl and she said Lillian.
A few years later my older brother got married and moved back in with his wife. My family agreed to give him my sister’s room and when I wasn’t home moved me out, throwing out or giving away all my sister’s things. I came home and was devastated but couldn’t tell anyone. After that I started gathering any little fem thing I could find and hiding it away for when I would have the chance to use it.
I moved out as soon as I was able and got married very young. I was very lucky that my wife had no problem with my love for panties and other apparel. She even gave me my first night gown, a light blue peignoir. She bought herself a matching pink one. We slept in them almost every night and got others as time went by. Sadly we had other differences and our marriage ended.
As time went by I was afraid she would tell people about me so I didn’t tell any of my girlfriends about what was in my closet until we had been together for a while. If they came across my fem clothing I had a nice cover since I worked part time for a costumer.
When I met my SO, I told her early on and she seemed okay about it until we moved in together. Then she wasn’t happy. I got rid of more then half my closet and packed the rest away.
We are now married and last year she went to see a play about cross dressers, Casa Valentina. When she came home and told me she didn’t want to be a part of my CD life but didn’t want me to give it up. She knew it was a part of me. For the first time since I was up in my sister’s room I feel like I have some freedom back. It has made me anew.

Re: My Sister's Room
Beautiful story Lily. I suppose those of us who had sisters were blessed with apparel to wear when in our younger years.
Yes, I too enjoyed wearing my sisters (two within 14 moths of age and both the same size in clothing) clothes in secret when able.
I remember running home from school in the lunch hour and spending the 50 minutes dressed in my sisters underwear, skirts, tops and dresses (what every took my fancy on the day from the full wardrobes) all which fitted perfectly.

Re: My Sister's Room
Sadly, my sister was 5 years younger than me (and still is to this day!) so wearing her stuff was a non-starter. BUT -- I had a cousin from Iowa who used to come out to visit who was a year older than me. Her's was the first girl's swim suit -- a one piece, that I ever tried on. I loved it! I so wanted to hope into the pool wearing it. It was blue and had a little white ruffle across the front at the waist/ hips. I remember thinking how cute I looked in it. It really looked right on me.
Never wore her panties or bras -- I had my own!
