Re: help with corsets
Well, 5ft 10in is tallish for a girl. But also women's torsos tend to be shorter than men's, so I was thinking of that as well.
This is Lavern Cummings:

Which is probably fairly close to waspish for a guy.
This is a video in which Michael Andrews de-drags and you can see part of the effect was achieved using a waist cincher:

Re: help with corsets
I believe, Myranda, that a cincher and padding is in your future. More hips will make your waist look smaller. You'll never get that 10" waist anyway, men's rib cage is longer in the first place.
Choosing blouses that fit your form will take practice. In this area, I'll offer my own experience. Large busted women tend to not wear tight fitting clothing. The wrong style that 'waterfalls' off the bust just makes you look fat(ter) or pregnant. The right blouse will stretch enough and still softly embrace your tummy area. Too tight will show off a cincher and, well, just look slutty.
If you have access to a woman's wear catalog, any that cater to larger ladies will do, pay attention to the sizing charts. Bust and hip size are fairly close, your natural waist might be just fine without a cincher.

Re: help with corsets
Finding shirts\blouses is going to be tough :\ but at least it'll be an adventure
How design one pick the right cincher? Broad question I'm sure but I guess I'm just lost. I got one of those super tight spandex body formers (from target) and I don't think it does much so I'm just hoping a cincher is better. I'm not looking for a 10inch waist just don't want to be straight as a board haha but I think pads will be the big decided. Might order some tomorrow
When is it OK to tuck a short or blouse into a skirt? And how high do I wear my skirt?

Re: help with corsets
The only cincher at this house is from Rago, seems sturdy and well made.
Padding will give you a more feminine shape than just reducing the waist.
Can you receive woman's catalogs at home? My husbands gets them in his femme name now. She gets Just My Size, Woman Within, and Blair. All are for larger ladies, so we shop together. Browsing a catalog will help you look for a style that suits you.
Woman's hips are higher up, padding will help keep a skirt up were it should be. Most blouses are not meant to be tucked in, ever.
Consider a resale shop like Salvation Army or Goodwill. You'll be amazed at what you can buy for so little, and great return policies.
Playing on-line dress up is rather fun!

Re: help with corsets
Well I got a cincher at walmart when I went shopping, all dressed up too
. It works better than my pure cloth one but it's not everything I dreamed of and more but I think it's just how my body is, I need corset for different results so I think pads are best option. Got some padded panteis too which work ok but do nothing for hips.
Also I got new hair and it's 100% better Than what I had, can't stop touching it, it's so soft and pretty
I'll get pics up

Nice avatar, Myranda!
Maybe a cincher doesn't have enough to cinch to satisfy your dreams. You'll notice that the Veronica garments pad hips as much as butt. They are custom made and not returnable, so maybe get 1" thick foam from a fabric or craft shop and experiment on how you would like to look. Keep in mind that you young, skinny girls don't have the wide, post children hips of more mature women.

Re: help with corsets
Thanks! I honestly never expected me too get this far i'm so excited and to look pretty good
!!!!!!!!!
I tried once before to make my own....and it was a disaster haha, followed directions of two on youtube and they were extreme flops so i kind of lost hope hence why i just wanted to buy one lol. yeah i'm not looking to have mega booty or mature hips just some hip and butt to give off a less masculine look. I do have a rounder butt however i do have small hips but i think 1 inch foam would be just enough to offset the T look and get me where i'd like to be
so i might give crafting my own a try otherwise i might just cave for a pre made one

Re: help with corsets
Myranda,
If I had my life to live over again, I would seek out a CD guy instead of finding one by mistake!
You are young and present as large breasted, skinny female. I have had personal experience in two out of those three. My husband also has the wide shoulders and prefers big boobs. The extra hip/butt padding makes the overall measurements close to the general population. Meaning, average for a more mature and slightly heavy woman. Blending in is his objective. Your age needs much less adjustment. The ideal presentation should be not be noticed as a guy dressed as female.
In suggesting the 1" foam, I meant merely to try out what might look good for you. Glue on different layers where you feel more padding might work. Heck, I don't really know how to do it, still seems less expensive than buying pads with no idea how they might look.

Yeah I don't want to be noticed as a guy at all, kinda scares me actually, hence why I'm trying to camouflage my more masculine features and be looked at and thought of as a female
my voice and hands are the main give away thus far but I think a little extra hip might help my proportions a little bit and seem a bit more feminine. I'm going to try your foam idea though, might need new pants though haha. I only have two pair and they are both the same size and tight so I think foam wouldn't work in those ones haha.
Thanks for everything

Dear Myranda,
You all still baffle me sometimes. Wouldn't proper breast forms come before worrying about waist size?. Watcha packing up there anyway? Birdseed or water? My breast 'forms' is a good fitting bra. The CD husband buys 'hers' by mail order. I believe this should be a separate topic anyway.

I like to baffle people, keeps me interesting
haha. I'm rocking thick water balloons. The 36 in party balloons so I have a D cup and the balloon isn't even tight yet haha work awesome, had them for idk 2 months now and not a single leak and move and bounce like real breasts now hard like a normal balloon this size.
I like my breasts however they don't adhere so you must be care full when bending over slightly haha so I just wanted some input before I decided on forms of not. I don't want to spend a boat load but I don't want cheapos that are worse looking than balloons

Re: help with corsets
Eileen,
Thanks for your comments I enjoyed reading your post on this thread.
I have used a corset once and it is very uncomfortable if your going to use it. Right or wrong I use a simple waist cincher a corset would work better on my beer belly but I opted for comfort. Most times when I dress it is for 5-12 hours at a time and doing activities such as bowling, shopping, etc were being comfortable is important.
The last time I bought a waist cincher i asked the clerk these numbers on the chart represent the waist you want or the size you are currently. She said it is a waist cincher not a waist magician..OMG that is funny.

That is funny, Megan. After a certain age, male or female, most of use carry extra weight we don't want. I chose to accept it and dress comfortably. Now and then, a little artificial sliming looks great and good for self esteem.
My dear husband dresses as a near 60 yo lady and passes better that trying to cinch and look younger.

Re: help with corsets
Hi Myranda, You are going to try a lot of things until you get the look that you really love. I Bought my first cincher before my first foam breast forms. After the breasts I bought a corset. Then silicone breast forms. Then small hip and butt pads. Today I just made my first full figure hip pads. Tried them on with the corset, and the silicone breasts and had a shape I have been working on for years. Still I am not done. My breast forms are teardrop shaped and I am thinking of going for triangles for a more natural look and a waist training corset to get a better shape.Myranda wrote:I'll take down the photos I just wanted the opinion on the shirt belt combo, and or how to stop the fabric waterfall off my boobs, to show off my thin ish stature.
So Sarah do you think a cincher or just pads might be better option than corset?
The new full hip and butt forms look good but they were my first attempt and I am sure I will be trying it a few times to improve on it. As for your waist, I like a corset because you can order it a size smaller then they say it fits and loosen the back to fit you better, then tighten to bring in your waist. Everyone has they own way of making their shape.
Basically it is a work in progress. In the beginning you will try to get the most out of each piece you buy and that's fine. I'm 5'9 and about the same build as you. I find a C cup works very well for me. I like a corset to give me a smaller waist and hips and butt can be added by either a padded panty like in my photos or if you go to Youtube and search make your own hip pads there are videos that can show you how to make ones like I made today.
I would say do not go all out on your first set of pads and forms as far as money goes. Like I said, work in progress. If you don't like them you now own something you wont use anymore. Find the shape you want and then, once you like what you see, buy or order something a little nicer.
Good luck, You are going to have a lot of fun trying new things.
