Been in a kind of a bummed out mood, slipped in to a dress and heels and I feel better - humph.
Funny how that works...

Yep...and at it again today..I hate having to get the check book straight, Pay the bills, and fill in the income the 1st of the month is kind of a bummer, paying or accounting for so all the stress goes away for another month....
Have to be careful, the Nurses aid will not be here till after 1pm so I am a go till noon...If I were bolder or did not care I would just greet her fully dressed, my home, they come to care for my wife...shower and I do the transfers...she is too heavy for them but...do not want to ruin my pretty shoes have to kick them off when I am caring for her and doing a transfer dressed. Conventions need to change...dresses do not belong to girls, everyone should be able to wear them if they want to. Oh well.

Re: Lifting my spirit!
Anne, back in the old days, of course women wore dresses all the time for every chore. They weren't always pretty or delicate. A while back my niece commented on how ugly was the dress I was wearing that day. I told her "this is my gardening dress, of course it's ugly. I'm not going to ruin one of my nice ones." But, being of the younger generation, she is of the mistaken belief that dresses are only for special occasions.
I find that even the mundane chores are more pleasant when wearing a dress, even if it is an ugly old house dress. I can get at Goodwill (or other similar place) a simple dress for $5. It's not the most pretty thing, but perfectly serviceable for routine use. And if I ruin it, no big deal, I throw it out and head on back to GW for another one
But dresses are so much more convenient and comfortable than jeans and T-shirt for most purposes. And yes, you can wear sneakers or flats with them. As long as it's not a special occasion.
