When your time comes
My family knows my desires and agree with it. Dressed casually, panties, bra and forms, sweater or top floral capris etc. Second choice 2pc Bikini swim suit with beach jacket. Go the fem person I should have been born. What are others ideas on their funerals?

Re: When your time comes
It would be interesting to be fem just in case you can take it with you.....
Otherwise? I won't know what happened that day to care.
I think a lot of us girls dream about how we want to be fem when buried, but will we get that wish? Who knows.

All it takes is an understanding funeral director and prearrangement plans.

Re: When your time comes
Personally I have left instructions to be cremated when I pass into the after life. I figure when I die this body will be pretty used up so why waste space saving it anywhere.
Besides funerals can be very expensive, I would rather someone take that money and spend it on a good party, remember me as I was not that corpse laying there in a coffin.
On a lighter note when my mother passed away last and when we took her clothes to the funeral home so she could be laid out the funeral director told us there was really no need for the pantyhose and shoes as no one would ever see them. My sister smiled and said put them on her as Mom wouldn't be caught dead in church without hose and heels.

Re: When your time comes
Before you pass out and all fades to black and you become unaware you are no longer aware...just like when you undergo surgery then wake up in recovery if you have ever experienced that.... I say In the spirit of Anne Bonny (16th century crossdressing female pirate) Enjoy the ride, once it is over it will no longer matter. Toss the ashes in the sea or place them in the root ball of a new tree, or go traditional - that is for any who cared about us in life, we would probably be surprised by who shows up or perhaps saddened that no one does alone even in death, I feel certain my sons, and perhaps my sisters will be there?
Oh I wanna go simply when I go....take me when I'm gone to Forrest Lawn....John Denver song.
I will return to space dust that may wind up some day making a rock, or nourishing a worm or a tree or weeds repeatedly or feeding tha fishes....ahrg!

Re: When your time comes
If I should die before I wake,
All my bone and sinew take
Put me in the compost pile
To decompose me for a while.
Worms, water, sun will have their way,
Returning me to common clay
All that I am will feed the trees
And little fishes in the seas.
When radishes and corn you munch,
You may be having me for lunch
And then excrete me with a grin,
Chortling, "There goes Lee again."
'Twill be my happiest destiny
To die and live eternally.
Not my poetry, but written by Lee Hayes and sung by Pete Seeger.
It pretty much says it all.

Re: When your time comes
Carol Elizabeth, I like this sentiment. There is a cemetery in my area that offers a program where the deceased can be cremated at a very small cost and the ashes spread as fertilizer among the shrubberies and flower beds. A dear friend opted for this, and, though I haven't yet signed up, I think that this is how I would like to dispose of my earthly remains.
Irish wake first, though.
