Re: Fear of Shopping.......
Just a bit more; For years I have been buying and recently it had really become commonplace
for men to buy women's clothes for ourselves. It is commonplace now so that the SAs and cashiers
don't even pay any notice to the practice. When I shop in woman's shops whether it be for bras
stockings, slip or any item, I am of the mindset, "I wear these clothes and there are plenty of us that do".
Then I expect to be treated like a woman and guess what? The SA's get the picture fast and it makes it
easy for them to treat me as a regular customer. The feel more comfortable that I am not lying about
the clothes being for someone else or some trumped up story.
Pardon me for going on about this

Re: Fear of Shopping.......
I went bra shopping yesterday, in the isle there were other men! If they were shopping for their selves or their SO? I was looking for 2 for myself for my new forms that are on their way, and a new one so my wife would have two good ones. This experience ... oh and I purchased two nightgowns for her I came across on the way to the check out. The girl at the check out just looked bored, did not really say much, and I was out. I will do it again...it really is not that hard. I had a mission went in and did it and ... hum could at some point need some size 6 panties. the size 7's are just too loose to feel comfortable they should stretch and hug more than loose men's briefs...

SEEEE girls? Its not as bad as you want to believe. Even saying you are buying for your SO is perfectly acceptable if it appears to be a "gift" type of lingerie. "everyday" type stuff might take a bit more courage, although I do believe that most SA's don't even care or put that much thought into it.

Michaela.. why would you even bring the LIE that you are buying for your wife
I tells the SA you are lying.... and you will start playing cat and mouse....
The SA will be happy to see you out of the store if you are dishonest.

Re: Fear of Shopping.......
Janet...I disagree. There are plenty of men everyday that buy sexy lingerie gifts for their wives/girlfriends/SO. EVERY...day. So if it helps makes someone more comfortable...and again...depending on what is being bought, there is no chance of getting caught. Because even if the story were true...guys are still nervous in those situations.
And what SA is going to toss you even if they DID suspect you of lying? Bottom line is that you are buying something with money and that's all they care about.

I believe I am willing enough to be straight up and say yeah they are for me...why? And yeah the money is green so unless they are heavily influenced by crazed religious strictures or are indignant because their societal standards are rather old stodgy and traditional, they aren't going to say anything. Never say never. I happened to actually be there partly for my wife's needs, but more because of my desires and needs, I have new forms coming, need the bra to hold 'em. they will fit a 40B my band by measuring but I like a stretchy firm comfortable hug in my bras so a 38C as they fit those cups too. B is the most common women's cup size though with augmentation and overweight the average american cup size has grown to DD and F it says...gee can you imagine?

Re: Fear of Shopping.......
I used to be very nervous when I first plucked the courage to buy clothes in male mode. First item I ever bought was a pair of black tights in my local Woolworth's store at the age of 21. When I took the tights to the counter I was convinced that the lady on the checkout knew they were for me and was giving me dirty looks. Thinking back it might have been just paranoia. The second time I went was a bit more successful, I bought several pairs of tights in Marks And Spencers. I think that it helped that I was knowledgeable about tights from going with my Mother to department stores when she was shopping for hosiery. However, I still trembled at the counter and was visibly flustered either handing over too much cash or buying some of my tights in the wrong size. I used to shop regularly in the hosiery department of the Co-operative store in the u.k. The hosiery counter was an Alladins cave for a hosiery loving girl like me. The year was 1981 and tights in all colours of the rainbow were in fashion. I think the girls behind the counter who were just a little bit younger than I suspected the tights were for me and were very off handed with me and looked at me as if I was a pervert. I used to say that the tights were not for me but I think that made them even more suspicious. As time went on my confidence grew and I would ask the sales assistants for help, the purpose for this was twofold firstly I genuinely wanted some advice with my prospective purposes but secondly it was my way of making them think the items were for me. I never have plucked up the courage to see that items are for me but would love to one day. The nearest I ever got was when I shopped at an out of town boutique took a pair of glittery tights to the counter and said that I had been looking everywhere for a pair. She didn't turn hair and said that she wore a pair the day before. After shopping for clothes for over 34 years I am not nervous at all. I know what I am looking for. I even shop locally but tend to stick to unpopular stores at the bottom of the town. Many crossdressers will advice nervous shoppers to go to a store first thing in the morning when there are not many people about and I think this is sound advice.
I had a very pleasant experience shopping for a dress in one ladies store. I found a lovely red dress that I really liked I asked the S.A. if they had it in my size which is a u.k. 16. I had a feeling that the girl could read me but she was kindness itself saying how sorry she was as I had found a dress that I liked. She advised me to go a shop that specialised in plus size clothes. Experiences like that tend to stick in the mind.

I am not able to shop online as I have a joint account with my wife. She knows that I am a crosssdresser, I have confessed to her several times but the subject has not been mentioned for four years. As a result I am more than happy to shop in stores, I enjoy the retail therapy.

Another positive aspect of shopping in a store is that I have rarely felt any bad vibes from customers. I have browsed in the racks for skirts and dresses in quite a few shops where teenage girls have been nearby I have not once encountered any nudging and giggling, if they accidentally bump into me they are always pleasant and apologetic.
