Moving In And Out Dress Mode
Girls, does this happen to you.
I most of the time do not care to dress. But at other times the urge comes on very strong. At times I would like to dress full time.
Do any of you ladies have this problem as well?

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
Hi Martha. To answer your question, Yes everyday. Problem with me is, I can't wear a dress or skirt while I'm operating equipment. So I resort to my femme jeans and t shirts. Then there is the occasional day that I just wear the other stuff. Oh I have thought about going full time, just seems like there is always something that sets me off and I'm back to starting that thought process over again.

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
Yes I have had a similar experience.
There are times where dressing up is absolutely the furthest thing from my mind. There are other times when I can't think of anything else, can't get enough, and want to dress all the time. Usually I live in the middle somewhere between the two extremes, and it could go either way based upon my plans on that day. If I am busy, I tend to put it off. If the opportunity arises though, and it's a slow evening or weekend, game on.
But when 'it' is on full blast, only thing I can think of.
And even when 'it's' fully off, I am wise enough to realize at this point that it's a matter of time before it's back on full blast. Never lets me down, just sit back and wait for 'it' to hit.

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
I am and will always be this way. This morning spur of the moment I decided to get into my favorite dress, why not I am entitled to wear whatever clothing I like. Just so happens I have the freedom, and the opportunity to do so. I tend not to when my son and especially when any of his friends are here which is usually not until late at night. But you do sense when others know but really do not approve or like it and that serves for me as a pressure that prevents my dressing. Should he come home he has seen me before, should the social worker call to come for the monthly visit she has seen me I do not know that I would change right now. It is more difficult to care for my wife who has advanced dementia wearing a dress and pumps so practicality and I do not wish to ruin my pretty clothing.
Yes it comes and goes. It is unpredictable but my desire to wear feminine things is highest in the mornings, fades in the early afternoon typically. I am gender fluid.
You know women fought for the right to wear pants and it is now an accepted thing, even for them to dress fully in masculine clothing with absolutely no objections from anyone at all.
I believe men have the right to wear dresses too, few men want to but those who do should have the absolute right to with absolutely no objections from anyone at all at work, at the mall, at home, where ever.
I believe society places women, over half the population in an entirely separate category that is not only a division based on genitalia alone. Women have to fight to assert they have equal status with men. Men who are like women are seen as being less than men which is why they are treated so badly. I do not think we have a problem...ok I am not fully masculine in status? Ok but that makes me also partly feminine so it equals out we are not less because we are this way we are whole people.

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
You have just described my feelings about dressing to a "T" Martha.
Yes, I get the urge to dress and comes on very strong if I do not act. It remains in the forefront of my mind until it is satisfied.
I may only have time to dress for a couple of hours or all day, depending on the locations of my sons and the mood of my wife (who is becoming more accepting as each dressing period passes).
Yes Anne it would be fantastic to have the freedom and acceptance by Society to dress at any time we desire without consequence.
In reality, who are we hurting?????

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
Dear Martha,
My husband also feels much the same. Most of the time, especially at work, the urge to dress or be girly is far from his thoughts. Other times, it's he can think about. At least that's what he tells me. I guess this is what makes the different between a CD and Trans.

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
Yes, Martha, in my experience the desire waxes and wanes. Sometimes for me it's mostly not there (never entirely gone), other times it comes on strong ... *got to dress!*
Seems to me I've seen remarks somewhere on this site regarding ways of evening out the want to/don't want to cycle. If you're in a situation where you can, just dressing all or most of the time, in other words making it routine, might put you inside that urge and extend it into a way of life in a nice manner.
An interesting concept: having the courage of our convictions, just dressing all the time. Being that woman we feel we are. (Except in conditions where you feel you can't, such as going out, or visiting the family ... whatever your personal line-in-the-sand may be.)
I must say I haven't done that. For me that would be pushing it. But it would be a way of "putting my dress where my mind is," to the point where, exciting or not, want to or not, dressing is just what I do. I wish I were in a situation where I could try it full time!

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
Hi,
For now and over the next 2 weeks I,m grinding sanding stoping and painting our house , so clothes are normal shorts tee top sneakers and overalls plus sunhat , gear goggles earmuffs glove,s and breathing gear, mask.
Of cause I,m replacing weather boards and other timber as needed = lumber =. this will keep me going just on the north side of the house for now later after our camp I,ll carry on ,
I don't have what some of you have this Moving in and out of dress mode , it does not effect me and I really don't care what I wear ,Of cause at our camp I,ll be dressed in my Garb for the week other than that when I get home back to work on the house ,

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
This was a powerful thread for me at this time. It is exactly how I feel. I have not been active on the site for a few months. I was questioniing a lot of aspects of my dressing. There was also some work related stress and of course the stress of my wife's illness. But I went here to wish you all a happy new year and read this thread. it really opened my eyes (I guess that is what this site is for). Are there still questions... Sure. But on new year's night I put on make up (such as I can) got dressed and went for a drive stopping at two 7/11's (the only places open besides bars) picking up some snacks and driving home. Yes, it was late (10:30-11PM) and there were only a few people around, but it felt good. I will just take whatever time I have to dress and enjoy the feeling. I will be visiting here more often again, posting, and adding pictures. Thanks all!! talk soon!!

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
Thanks Anne. Olivia followed up this morning with a drive to and school stopping at a store. But becase of traffic the stop was not as long as I had wanted and I did not get a picture with my GG. I wanted to get a picture with her because I was wearing a hat she gave Olivia for Christmas. It was a little daring to walk on campus dressed but I got through it without notice. Not sure when the next outing will be but I will just take the opportunity when I can.

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
I have found that over time as I grow older the desire to dress becomes stronger. No it is not the driving force in my life and I still spend time in male drab but that time seems to be less and my girly time increasing. Are any of you experiencing this as well?

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
Since I only began seriously dressing two years ago maybe the age had something to do with it. But finding this site had a lot to do with it also. I also think that if I stop working the desire will increase as I have more time to take advantage of opportunities.

At 75, I follow my urges as I please. They occurred less frequently after 74.

Re: Moving In And Out Dress Mode
I am retired because I am able to be for one, but would have worked longer had my wife not become ill requiring total care. I have found being able to dress pretty much when I like has been wonderful, I hated having to always suppress and hide 40% of who I am! It irritates me that society and it's bigoted inflexible ideas about gender forced me to have to do that for over half my lifetime! It is just wrong and it is not healthy.
I see no lessening of desire because this is who I am and always will be...I am gender fluid will be until I die for myself it is my gender and not my sexual drive compelling me to be who I am. It's not a fetish, it is my gender, so is what it is and the freedom to be who I am is absolutely beyond words...wonderful. Anne
