I work a four day work week now. And I feal that playing Maid is the least that I can do for a very understanding wife. I do all the cooking and a great deal of shopping. My lips are planted firmly on my Wifes Azz if for no other reason then I Love her and she understands and tollerates me. BTW She does a great deal of housework also I need to give her credit. But on my day off she is treated like a Queen when she comes home. Fairs Fair right?

Beauty,
I think what you do for (you) and your wife is Great!
Way to go!!
I am a stay-at-home mom/wife, and I take care of all of the things in/outside of the house, so I thought that I would give my 2 cents on this subject.
My husband owns his own business and has many resposiblities and dead-lines, which sometimes requires him to work round the clock.
I don't veiw myslef as doing the "woman's" work. My husband and I are a team, a partnership, he has worked many years to get where he is now. I take care of the things in our home that my husband doesn't have the time for (if we "both" worked", the household resposibilities would be shared equally, as it was many years ago when I was working)
We do have 2 young boys (ages 9 & 12), and I have them help out with things in the house also.(if I had girls , I would have them do the same) They are to take care of cleaning up their own rooms, bring down "their" laundry and then put it away, taking out the garbage, keep their bathroom neet, my older son dusts for me (when I ask him to) , and they both help with emptying the dishwasher, along with helping me mow the lawn (which I mostly do myself) I also show them how to cook (although my youngest son is uninterseted on the "how" and just wants to eat
).
I don't feel that these things are only for "women" to take care of. We ALL need and use most of the same things
Men wear clothes, just as women do (they need to be purchased and washed)
men eat food, just as women do (someone needs to be buy it and then it needs to be cooked)
Men have children to raise, just as women do (they (the kids)just need
....................."both" of us
men use dishes, just as women do (they need to be washed)
men make messes, just as women do ( it all needs to be put away)
the grass grows (it needs to be cut)
kids need help with their homework, or to be taken to their friends house or to a school functions (someone needs to take them)
I will say, that when things get hectic around the house my husband does help out when he can, and whenever our kids need him, he is always there for them, he has always been a great father and a wonderful husband.

I feel that we show each other how much we love each other by doing our part, in our relationship

HI Beauty,
Great post, as usual.
My wife and I both worked together so we split the household work also. She often worked for a few hours on Saturday so I would get dressed, clean the house, start a nice fire in the fireplace, make a big pot of homemade soup, and bake a loaf of bread. She loved it and usually showed me so!
Now, I am by myself so I have no choice. Of course, being retired, it really isn't so bad to have to do it all. Someday, I'll make a fine wife for some lucky GG.

Love being a homemaker
Since going from working at an office to working at home, I've also become the full time homemaker and I love it. I always did more cooking that guys do, now it's kind of become official. My partner is taking classes at night and that keeps her busy so I'm happy to have taken on the domestic end of things. I'm happy to see myself as a housewife who works from home and gets out some in the day for shopping, appointments (hair, skin and nails) and of course Jazzercise. I only wish we could repeat our vows with me in a wedding dress.

Hi Beauty,
Just had to revive this thread. I too have become a housewife. When I was forced to retire because of my illness, my wife had to return to work. At first I could not do much because I was so weak. But eventually it became a full role reversal. I do all the cooking, cleaning, shopping, laundry, school events, making sure the kids do thier homework, and clean thier rooms. The truth is i do it because I am the only one who cares. My wife never has been the greatest housekeeper. But being home alone, I just can not stand a dirty house. My kids think I am neurotic about it, but we don't live in a museum, it looks lived in, but clean. Glad I took Home economics in Jr. High. I was the first boy to ever do it. But I can thread a sewing machine, make bisquits from scratch, and iron a shirt properly. Anyway, right down to making my wife's coffee in the morning, I have tried to make it so she has to do nothing but work. Much as she did for me when I worked.
