Cold weather underdressing urge
Hello everyone,
Since I started (under) dressing, probably around high-school, I liked the cold season because it allowed me to wear my more daring pieces of underwear and being reasonably sure that any strap buckles or molded cups are hidden by the winter clothes.
This year was mostly dormant with regards to crossdressing, I have an accepting (but not extremely enthusiastic about my dressing) girlfriend, a well stocked panty drawer and that's pretty much it. But autumn, after a cold spell, my urge to underdress came with a vengeance. I busted out my teddies and my more involved lingerie out from the back of the dresser and mostly paraded around the house, but once the even colder weather hits, I'm going to be out and about in them and few will have the slightest hint that something's up.
Can any of you darlings relate to that or have similar experiences?
Hugs, Alice!

That is when the pantyhose and tights become part of the wardrobe more often.

I have gotten so used to wearing tights the cold half of the year, it doesn't even seem like cross-dressing.
Just cold weather survival.

I understand what you are saying Alizee. It does not get as cold here as to where you are so I have to be careful with my underdressing. I to love the feel of pantyhose and/or stay up stockings under my jeans.

Hehe, I can relate to tights tights being just cold weather survival, this was my girlfriend's first hint that I may be more liberal in my dressing choices, before telling her about my special interests, and she didn't even bat an eyelash (okay, maybe just one).
While I certainly prefer tights and stockings to long johns or whatever they are called, I'm quite a furry guy and I never got myself to the point of shaving my legs, so they can be pretty itchy from time to time. Despite the cold spell, I'm going to have to wait for some even chillier weather down an the old continent before I can comfortably bust out the stockings or tights.

Alizee, by coincidence I am listening to "wait Wait, Don't Tell Me' on NPR, just as I read your post. They just said that according to a "Men's Health" magazine survey, half of American men now shave their legs. If this is really the case , you are now free to shave away without any repercussions.
I know all the bike rider types in my area do it. I wore shaved legs with shorts all summer, and never heard a peep about it.

Oh my gosh! I was listening to the same show! I wonder if the survey included an age break down. Younger guys seem to like shaving all over.April Rose wrote:Alizee, by coincidence I am listening to "wait Wait, Don't Tell Me' on NPR, just as I read your post. Also, I wonder how many men wear pantyhose under the pretense of keeping the chill off without the bulk of thermals?

Found the study, it's was a facebook survey actually:
http://www.menshealth.com/grooming/shou ... their-legs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
So my guess is 20-30 year old guys living in larger cities were the bulk of respondents.
I for one don't need an excuse to go all clean-shaven, but I'm also a cyclist so that would fit. What's keeping me from it is the upkeep effort, but I'm lazy like that...

Re: Cold weather underdressing urge
Back in the late 60s and into 70s (yes I know I am dating myself here) I rode motorcycles a lot at one time I had three of them. I was one day complaining about the cold while riding and a friend of mine whispered to me that he wore his wifes pantyhose because it kept him warmer and were much more comfortable than the long handled underwear. I thought to myself what a great excuse and I used that excuse to buy myself a bunch of pantyhose. Not sure what the excuse was for the panties I bought though but I thought what the heck.
I too love the colder weather for the more opportunity for me to underdress. Of course the days now start out cool and then warm up so I start out in layers and then have to gradually reduce the layers. So usually at noon I'm taking off the bra but later on in the winter I will be able to wear one all day. I do wear panties a good deal of the time anymore but being able to wear a bra for a good part of the day feels wonderful not to mention being able to wear a woman's top under the outer layer. I still have to be very careful about what I wear and when because of where I live and what would happen if I got injured and ended up in the hospital.

Re: Cold weather underdressing urge
Back in the 70s and 80s when I was into rambling and hill walking, I wore my wife's old tights (usually 15 den) (and sometimes 2 pairs) under my trousers when the weather on the hills was a bit chilly. I still wear these thin tights when the weather gets a bit cols but wear heavier gauge tights (40 or 60 gauge) when the temperature is below freezing. They are not so bulky as thermal pants under my trousers.

Re: Cold weather underdressing urge
The cold weather does not make me want to under dress any more but it does make it easier to do it. Bras and other undergarments with straps and such smooth out with an extra or bulky layer.

Re: Cold weather underdressing urge
Alizee,
I know exactly what you mean, I have underdressed for many years, and have loved fall for just that reason. The first time I ever underdressed was a pair of panties to night school. Little did I know what I was starting!
Over the years, I have always anticipated the arrival of fall for that reason. Wearing breast forms and a bra in the summer rapidly proves unworkable. But, when it gets cooler, out come the jackets, thicker clothing etc. My underdressing urge gets stronger.
I greatly enjoy going for early morning walks with tights, sometimes skorts, sometimes yoga pants and a woman's jacket. I encounter many people out walking in the early morning and have never had a problem. I also wear a bra and forms.
Here is to Fall!

Re: Cold weather underdressing urge
I chose the fall to finally begin my exploration of CDing. During the summer my legs are exposed and I have somewhat hairy legs, although I have trimmed the hair many times this year to change that impression. This fall I shaved my legs and have finally maintained that for the first time ever (what a pain!). It's odd though, for as much as I had thoughts of wearing clothes to work I have not due to having to be in full "male mode" constantly there due to my job and those around me. I have, though, worn other items underneath when going out for short trips and the colder weather here in Ohio certainly makes that easy.
