Black Friday Poll

Post by Diana Michelle »

I don't know about the rest of you but this past week or so my e-mail has been bombarded with the Black Friday ads, some "Proudly" announcing their Thanksgiving Day super specials. Personally I believe Thanksgiving is a family holiday and the store should not be allowed to open but that is a subject for perhaps another post. I am curious as to how many really shop on these days so let's see. I may or may not shop on Black Friday depending on the item and my mood but curious to see how others feel.

Hi Diana. I selected the last option... I have never gone shopping on Black Friday. And I just think it is pretty sad that stores feel like they must be open for business on a Holiday. Convenience stores, grocery stores, sure. Same for emergency services and the like. But the thought of going shopping for something I don't NEED during a time in which most sales associates would just love to be home with their families... Not for me.

True, some sales people gladly take the extra income. But I really dislike stores which will stay open until very late at night (on regular days) just to serve one or two customers who are late evening shoppers (Who would go to the store earlier if they knew it closes at 9 pm instead of 10 pm. )

Sorry, off my soap box now...

You would have to pay me to get up at 5 o'clock in the morning to stand in line to save a few bucks on an item just because it's Black Friday.
