contemplating venturing out with the wife

This past weekend my wife and I played "dress up" and I must say I looked pretty good for myself. My wife must have thought so too because she asked me if I would ever consider going out for a drink or something. We were in New Hope and she suggested we might go to the Raven for a drink next time we're in the area and are dressed.

Normally I would say that was out of the question but, for some reason I thought it might be exciting. Aside from the stares I am afraid I might get I was concerned about the bathroom situation. I assume I would still use the men's room but, that would draw even more attention to myself; am I over thinking this?

Has anyone ever been there before and what is it like for people like us?

Yes, definitely take your wife up on the offer for 2 ladies to go out together ... Virginia and I do that all the time, and it's great!

When you are out as your male self, do you use the Women's Restroom? Then why would you think about using the Men's Restroom if out as Keay?

If you are dressed obviously en femme - hair, clothes, makeup, etc. - then you had better use the Women's restroom; when you do, remember that women SIT, so it's 'feet forward' (usually towards the door). Period. Otherwise, you are (a) outing yourself as a guy in women's clothes, and (b) inviting trouble to yourself from those who are not accepting or understanding.

Glad you and your wife are having fun. If your wife is ok with going out with you and how you look, I would not worry about how you look. Go out and have fun. As far as the bathroom, if you look feminine, you go in the womans restroom. Have your wife go along, go in, find a stall, SIT to go, wipe, wash hands and leave. Follow your wifes lead you do not need to over think it.

First thing is give your wife a big hug and a kiss for being accepting of this side of you. I am sure you have read many posts here from other girls who are not as fortunate. You are blessed to have such a loving and accepting spouse and treasure her!

As for the bathroom issue much has been made of that here and IMO probably because of the morons in North Carolina and their religious righteousness. As others have said if nature calls just get your wife to go with you, remember we girls always go in groups. Maybe if your wife is extra nice she will fill you in on why we do that.

Absolutely take her up on going out together. Just be careful you might really enjoy it and want to do it more often..

As others have said why would you use the men's room if you are en fem. That would obviously out you.

Isn't it illegal for a man to use the ladies room? I know I would be dressed as a woman but the fact remains that I am a man. While I understand going to the men's room in drag would definitely draw unwanted attention I also don't want to be found out using the ladies room and being arrested or something.

I have been out shopping or to a restaurant with my wife while dressed and no-one has batted an eyelid that I have noticed. While out dressed I have no hesitation using the appropriate loos, that is, the ladies. Using the gents would have attracted much more attention. I recall the reaction of a Chinese girl at Bicester outlet village when she entered the gents loo( I was in drab at the time) She was wearing jeans but gave a shriek and turned around quickly. Ladies have used the gents but only when there is a long queue for the ladies and some lady is usually standing guard at the door. As long as you enter a stall do what you have to do, wash your hands and exit quickly no-one is any the wiser. I was a bit worried at a motorway services in the ladies when a busload of schoolgirls on a trip charged in, prattled away, but quick hand wash and out without problem. I think they were far too busy on mobile phones to notice.

As far as the bathroom situation goes, if you are in Texas or North Carolina it might be a problem but otherwise I think you won't.

Well being from NC, and going out dressed I am still using the ladies room. I do however make sure that I look good enough to pass, ( my main problem is I'm 6'2".) I always make sure that the room is pretty much empty, and don't come out of the stall until it seems safe to do so.
Use your best judgement. And if you're in NC maybe I'll see you in jail some day. Don't know if I'll be in the women's cell, or the men's.
It'll all work out in another fifty years.
And maybe in another fifty years my wife will ask me out for a drink.

Nobody is checking your birth certificate or DNA to use the potty, even in NC. A few helpful hints are to look your feminine best. Don't go to a family restaurant, parents are extremely protective. Nor a biker or sports theme place, to much testosterone. Try to find a place where there are more than 6 inches between tables. Or try to find a TG friendly place, every large city has at least one, even if they don't advertise as such.
If adult beverages are part of your dining experience, order wine instead of a beer. Or a ladies type mixed drink. Just don't pick your teeth with the little umbrella's toothpick.

Have fun and relax, a nervous lady draws unwanted attention.
