I FEEL GREAT and ....

Post by Jessie »

This last friday I went out paid all my bills that I had accumulated over my vaction (that included my hotel the most expensive of them all). Any way I was paying my bills at the mall (you know Sears & JCPenneys) and after I got everything paid off I realized that I did a really good job. I still have money in my checking account (I sometimes have to transfer funds from savings) and I thought I am going to buy my self a gift (or two as I will explain). I had this Coupon for JCPennys for $10 off and I thought what can I get myself. I walked the whole store several times and ended up in the stockings section. After looking at the backs and thinking back to advice given to me by Beauty (by the way thank you) I picked up two pairs that go with some dresses my mom gave me recently (white and navy blue). I kept walking around the store trying to see if there was anything else that I saw and there it was at the entrance of the store (to the mall) in the cosmetic section a boxed set of makeup (ok I am not that great about picking makeup but) it also came with a lighted mirror and all contained in a nice case. So I went threw the cases and found the one that was in the best condition (it is had no scratches at all) and after looking around for a little while longer to find a checkout with the shortest line I bought it. Being ingnorant of makeup however I had to ask the sales lady to make sure that everything is ok with it (I told her it was a gift with to many other people being around) and she tells me it looks perfect.

This was not the end of my day I then left the mall and ended up at a Value Village at looked and tried on several dresses after trying on the three I picked out I chose the one that best fit me. Then doing one more sweep of the store I found one more item that I liked.

Over all that was a great day for I felt really good.

Hi Jessie,

Glad you were able to get out and purchase yourself a few gal things. :) It sounds like you did a fine job, in the store, staying discrete. I hope the hose fit like you wanted them to. Let us know.

All in all it sounds like quite a few of the gals here had a good weekend of purchases and fun times out and about! :)

Thank Jessie for sharing the beginning of your weekend with us!!! :)

Shopping, shopping, shopping!

Post by Julie M. »

For anyone who has read my "newcomer" post you may remember I am just coming out of hibernation after a 10 year hiatus. On my b-day I dressed up for the first time in a while and it was such a relief!

Anyway I decide ol' Jules needed some new things. Thursday I bought slacks, skirt and wrap aroung top (all coordinated) but wanted some accessories too. The store I was at didn't have what I wanted. So I figured I'd have to stop at the mall to get those things.

Today I visited my mom and on the way home figured now is as good a time as any. I went to Penneys figuring it was a good place to start. Now this girl is a little rusty and the store has been remodeled since I was last there. I was lost. So I roamed around looking for scarves and such all of the sudden I am in a forest of prom dresses - all on sale! Well my head started spinning. What should I do? I came for accessories not a beautiful dress. But they were so beautiful I had to at least look. Then I saw it! A black halter full length dress with white chiffon striping at 45% across the front. It was fashioned like a wrap around. I love halters and I love wrap arounds and I love black. Yeah, I bought it. Then I saw this very pretty sheer black shawl that came with a small purse. Yeah, I bought it. Then as I was walking to the checkout I saw these sexy pantyhose. Yeah, I bought four pair. Everything was on sale from 30 - 50% off and the lady at the checkout gave me an extra 10% off! I was one happy camper.

But I still didn't have the scarves I wanted. I was just looking for one black and one white one. I walked into VonMahr and found the black one but the white was more a cream color. So I looked aroung some more and saw the prettiest scarf. It was black with red and white rose print inside a boarder. Yeah, I bought that too.

This past week has been so great. Finding this place to talk to all the fine people is really helping me reemerge.

Thank you,

Julie

Hi all,

Jessie and Julie M.

Thank you for sharing your recent shopping experiences with us.

Next week is a church rummage sale and my wife and I cleaned our closets and dressers - there is now room for more stuff and I'm going back and forth between this forum and the Blair closeout website looking for some nice bargains.

Happy bargain hunting, everyone!

An update to this post from me. I finaly tried on one of the items I did not try on at the store and found that it was WAY to small for me. I could not get my head threw the top without ripping it. I belive it was ment for small or pettit woman or maybe even a girl and the item was just placed in the wrong section. Anyway I took it back and exchanged for anouther dress (I tried this one on while I was there) and happy with the exchange.
