I always try to do something nice for my SO on Valentine's but, also at other times to let her know how much I
appreciate her in general. And to say thank you for being supportive.

Aww, Louise. Here, from me to you. (--) <>

We haven't been big on VD gifts for such a long time. What should I get for a guy that dresses prettier than his wife anyway? We should buy each other some jewelry this weekend, something we can share.

I think buying some jewellery to share is a lovely idea, how about some perfume could be fun choosing one.

If Valentine's Day is as commercialized in the UK as in the US, it takes the romance out of the so called Holiday. Compulsory candy, card, and flowers, while the woman partner provides little more than appreciation. So on that venerated day, we enjoy a couple's evening at home. Order out for dinner, or he grills some dead meat. Some wine, a movie, more wine, then

Now that there are two of us wearing earrings, we have a nice collection. Mine are smaller, hers are bigger, somewhere in the middle, we share. An odd thing to get used to, well, the whole husband as girlfriend is still odd.
I do buy her gifts now and then just on a whim, as he does for me. I think that's more romantic than one day per year.

Being an incurable romantic I have always believed Valentines gifts (Sweetest Day gifts as well) should go both ways. I am fortunate my BF feels the same way so this year I got a dozen red roses and an adorable pink with black lace trim chemise. I gave him a single red rose and a pair of red silk boxers.
