What is your style?

Post by Diana Michelle »

I don't know how many of you read all the subjects and posts here, I try to read them all. One of my favorites is in The Gaming Place header, A or B. It is just a silly little thing of given a choice between one or the other which one do you choose? One of the more recent posts there coupled with other threads floating around got me to thinking. The subject? Panties! ..OO..

Before I get started here please understand I am not picking on or looking down at anyone. It was more years ago than I want to admit to I though I was a CD like many of you are. For some of us things are different and I took the path that was right for me but have never forgotten my roots.

The first thing that struck me as I thought about it was how differently women and CDs think about panties. :-k For the CD panties are a badge of their femininity and in many cases how many proudly announce they "only" wear panties. For women it is just underwear, something we pull on everyday as we get dressed. For the CD it is about what they represent and for many of you color, lace and frills, style, material, and so on. For women in most cases and on most days it is about comfort and function.

Having worn panties everyday for well over half my life I know my style has changed as well as how I view them. Back in the old days it was always about matching my panties to my bra and in some cases my slip. Now it is what isn't going to show with what I am planning on wearing. Back in the old days it was strictly bikini panties, nowadays there is a variety of styles in my panty drawer as well as colors although my everyday go to style are now hip huggers. Yes there are days I will go with something a little lacier or sexy be it as eye candy for the BF  or just for me :) but even on those days I think about comfort and not exposing them to the world be it show through or the dreaded VPL. Call me a prude but I prefer to choose who gets to see and know what type or color panties I am wearing.

My question to all of you be you CD, TG or GG is how do you think about panties or for that matter do you even give them much thought? Like me is what you choose to wear on a given day reflect your mood or is it just grab the pair on the top of the pile in the drawer? Do you have a variety of styles and colors or when you open the drawer do you see a sea of white and beige with a smattering of pink? #-o As you mature has your "style" changed?

Panties I see as kind of functional, but also expressive. That is to say I go for plain simple colours, not much decoration. The colour I wear is defined by the choice of colour for the rest of the underwear I wear that day. The sense in which they're expressive is that they are simply women's clothes.

I guess my naiveté is showing...... I am new to all of this and yes, the move to panties was a monumental step for me as the first move towards becoming a CD. As in the future I may not have asked the question.

For the most part my style is pretty basic full briefs. Most of them are just solid colors. I do have a few prints, a few lacy ones, several high waist ones, and a few high waist long leg ones. I also have some male briefs for my masculine days and when needed for function

For the most mornings I just grab what is on top. But of course some mornings I feel more daring and dig for lace or blah and look for something plain instead of what is on top. And of course some days dictate function.

So no one style fits all days for me. <-->

For me, it is all about fit and function and finding what style works best.

I've got it narrowed down to two: basic cotton bikini panties for work or casual outings and shapewear briefs when going out for the evening. It certainly helps with keeping everything tucked nicely in place. :P And, it's really the only time I make an effort to make sure that it matches.

I guess I'm backwards, but usually I pick what bra I want to wear first, then find panties that go with it. Which isn't to say they always have to match, but I at least want them to be more or less coordinated. To me, they (both bra and panties) are expressive and do in some way reflect either my mood or something. If they didn't, I would just grab any old thing and put it on, without spending 10 minutes thinking about it.
And I don't quite believe the claim that to women they are just underwear, strictly functional and have no other attraction. In some cases that's true, and I guess those women buy Hanes Her Way by the 10-pack the same way guys buy theirs. But there is a really, really big variety and selection of cute, frilly, sexy panties - I doubt all of them are being bought by CDers. So maybe some of us have rather an excessively large collection, but I'd say that's a matter of degree rather than a matter of philosophy.
When I was in college, I had a very close friend who would go underwear shopping when she was stressed out about something. Since I had a vehicle, she would make me take her. I can't say that she is the reason I started dressing (it was way before that), but she did teach me the joys of underwear shopping even though she didn't know it.

I try to match my bras and panties, love all different colors. Like the feel of satin or nylon the best but have all types. And like low rise bikinis the best.

Ralista no you are not backwards or if you are then in many ways so am I. Generally a top is more apt to have show through or run the possibility of peeking out so I and I would not be surprised many other women select what bra to wear then what panties what to wear with it.

Perhaps I did not express myself well when I said "for women it is just underwear." I meant in no way that many women don't give any thought to what panties they wear on a given day but IMO CD's tend to give it a lot more thought than women do on a day in day out basis. Yes for some it is "just underwear" but to others, myself included, we do give it thought everyday. One thing with women is we tend to give more thought on more special occasions be it dressing for the hubby or SO or when we are feelng special or wearing that extra special outfit. Somehow a low cut push up bra and granny panties don't go together at least in my mind.

Never knew anyone who would go lingerie shopping because they were stressed out but to each their own. For me it would be shoe shopping but that is me. I do know I have gone shopping for lingerie for a "special" occasion and would be pretty sure most women have as well. As for shopping for everyday lingerie I tend to go if I see a sale on my favorite manufacturer.
