Proposition!

Post by Lorna »

This has been a trying week for many of us here, so I vote that we each go out and buy ourselves something cute!

It doesn't matter if it's a dress, or a pair of shoes, or a pair of earrings or a lipstick from the 99 cent rack! If you can, go out and treat yourself! But just be careful not to go overboard... I've heard stories about women going shopping when they're feeling down... while yes, they feel better after their little excursion, their Visa cards are gasping for air!

This weekend I am picking myself up a denim jacket & a new dress - some nice & colorful for spring & summer. No more but no less! @@9@@

Just tonight I ordered a couple of things for my wife and me from Lane Bryant - a tshirt dress (with pockets - a wife must have) in a butterfly print.

She's starting to like butterflies and will share (but she will get to be the first to wear it). There is a catalog special that's 25% off the most expensive item of 2 or more entered. Of course I had to order a second item, and I chose the lacy full sweep full slip in aqua - we already have black and pink. When I placed the online order, I just typed in the catalog number.

If anyone wants the catalog number, please leave a PM.

The only connection this blonde has to Lane Bryant is as a customer.

You know, Lorna, that sounds like a good reward for enduring a short stint in Hell. The last 24 hours or so have felt like a hundred years--I had to track down an obscure flaw in the niche application that my company sells. After updating their installation of our app, one of our customers reported that their database had essentially gone back in time, dematerializing at least six weeks worth of data entry! I've spent the last day looking for bugs in all the wrong places. #-o Updates of our app have occasionally made data disappear (if only temporarily), but none of us here had implemented a time-travel algorithm!..OO..

Anyway, problem solved. :) It was a dormant import-export interface designed specifically for the company in question, which the update had somehow reactivated, so that an ancient (ca. 2000) import file ended up being merged with the app's main database. After I killed the defunct import file and did a clean restore from backup, our customer was back in business. ..^.. I think I deserve something pretty! <oooo>

Yours,
Celia

That´s a good idea Lorna :) In fact I can´t wait to get my 3 new skirts, 4 bras ( already have over 60 bras  ) and stay ups which I bought online a few days ago. Every time I try to convince myself that I have enough bras and skirts but end up buying more and more. [-X

Joanna :) :)

Lorna,

I think I'm ahead of you on this one, in spirit at least. Yesterday, was the first day in over a year I wore pantihose during the day. What a feeling!! Instead of focusing on the negatives we have seen recently, let's continue to celebrate our mini victories.

Nuff Luv,

Well, girls, this may not be the place to post this, but the thread has developed sooooooo......
some of our sisters here have had some tramatic times this week! I hope we are all thinking about them and some of us are carrying them in our prayers. I must admit I have not responded to a couple of them as you, my sisters, have said what needs to be said a lot more eloquently than Deborah could, but she would have meant the same thing! Several of them have some really heavy baggage and I hope I can speak for those of us who have read their posts but not replied, we are thinking about you and only wish you the very best and keep posting, because just because some of us feel inadequate in our abilities to respond, we still care about you and wish only the best for you.
Love,
Deborah
