Hi Ladies,

I have to tell you, I just can not care about what others think any longer. If anyone is stupid enough to ask me why my legs are shaved, I will tell them it is because I was told to in a dream, and if I don't, I will die on my 46th birthday in a red convertable. No one is gonna touch that. They will regret asking. And if they don't? I will continue to be silly as long as they do,

I shaved my whole body which i have not done in quite sometime. I have to say I have not been self concious about it at all. Took my kids to the pool today. All I know is that it feels great and liberating. I did wear a shirt though, I have my nipples peirced with hoops and this is just a little more than your average soccor mom can handle, considering I also wear gold hoops in my ears. I don't want to embarass my kids so I asked them if they wanted me to wear a shirt, and they said yes. I want them to be comfortable. My two younger boys do not know about Elizabeth, they just think i am excentric,
Love to all

I have a shaving question. Now that I have shaved my beard off my face looks (to some at least) like it's a little heavier. why is that? Also I keep razor burn on certain parts of my face. Does any one have any help with that?

Hi Jessie,

Often men use hair to hide the rounded face that comes with weight. So it's normal to see what you're seeing. :)

I don't understand about the razor burn though? :-k

Hi Elizabeth,

I just love that quote, a sort of cross between Alfred E Newman and Monty Python. Have you ever thought of a career in scripwriting?

Just did it...

Post by Brianna »

Hi!

It's late... about midnight. I normally would have just gone directly to bed but I thought I should post while my experience is still fresh in my mind.

This morning I shaved my underarms and tonight I shaved my legs. I can't say I did the best job. I just did a fair job of it for now. It's tough knocking down the entire forest at one sitting. After I was finished I put some body oil on and my legs feel really smooth despite the occasional stubble.

I will probably spend more time doing the job right on Thursday night. Tomorrow night is kind of hectic.

This was not the first time I have shaved either of these body parts but it is the first time I have shaved them when I knew I would be exposing myself to others.

I was contemplating it and concerned, as many others are, that I would receive some unwanted attention. Finally I decided that I would just have to do it and face my fear. Afterall, whose living my life? Me? or a bunch of ignorant people who can't appreciate me for who I am?

I had all kinds of concerns going through my head. Like the fact that I will be in a room with a bunch of men changing costumes... and the fact I plan to bare it all when I am in Sint Maarten. Finally, I decided I would enjoy myself better if I wasn't living in fear. What's the worst that can happen? Some people may harass me about shaving my legs and underarms.

Well, I just thought I would share my experience.

Later,

Brianna

I Love It!
I wish I had thought of it and included it in my list of responses; with a wild-eyed look say: "It was the voices in my head that told me to shave my legs!"
Oh, blondes and anyone else thinking about it: DO NOT PUT NAIR ON YOUR CHEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
at least that is what I have heard!? he he he

I started shaving my legs 11 years ago and for the last couple of years I´ve shaved everything in wintertime. During the summer I keep my arms hairy because of the t-shirts. I never wear shorts ´cause I have very feminine looking thin legs and in male mode I want to look like a man. :)

i love getting rid of the hair on my legs...I HAVE to do it before dressing. I usually wax. The only problem are those annoying ingrown hairs. Gotta keep scrubbing with a loofa and moisturizing, I suppose. I've thought getting electrolysis done but it seems so expensive and time consuming. I'm not losing my hair but sometimes I wish I can lose hair--on my legs!

Usually people don't ask me why I shaved my legs. When the hair was recently removed, they seem to think I'm just another hairless asian guy. But when the stubble comes in, I usually respond "I don't know...just wanted to". They think I'm quirky but nothing more than that is said. They usually just shrug and carry on their business.

Shaving? That's what I asked about for my cruise, and I thought about it all afternoon.

After all, who's gonna have the gall to go up to a perfect stranger and ask why they do that?

As for family.. maybe it will break the ice. Maybe not.

I'm going shaved and will love every minuteof it.

My SO says just wear white! Think of that.

Don't worry about people noticing the absence of hair on your legs. I used to use the "I'm a bicycle racer" excuse, but now don't even bother. Unless you're very hirsute to begin with, no one will notice the change. I've just begun experimenting with shaving my arms. Again, it depends on how obvious the hair is to begin with. No one, including my SO, has said a word.

Get out and enjoy the warm weather!

Hi Gelinda,

After talking to my laserologist she said the answer to that question is no.

She said that a hair that grows out the first time is like a cone. It goes from skinny and soft to a fatter shaft. So when you cut it it, you cut it at the shaft, which is thicker.

If you were to pluck it, it would then grow out thinner again. That's why you hear those who us an epilator say, "My hair grew out softer." That's because the pulled it from the root. The new hair that grows is like a cone(sorry for not using a better description of the cap of the new hair that grows out) and it's soft again.

Ok. I don't think I can describe it any better and I think my description is horrible. #-o
