Shrek-2 Movie

Okay girls, I went to the new Shrek-2 movie tonight. Hold on to your umbrellas girls.

In the movie of course there is going to be many "gestures" and "puns" about other previous books and movies. In this film, there was of course a chance to have the "ugly step sister." She was tending bar. While she was nothing to bring home to mother I suppose, her voice, played by a "MALE" actor brought the house down.

Good, bad, or indifferent, girls, we were in a Shrek-2 movie. Now not to say that we resembled this cartooned figure, but, for sure, someone was saying something in the planning room for this movie. Perhaps I am being a little sensitive so someone else needs to go see Shrek-2.

It was fun and done in good taste, but, the "ugly step sister," well, she was typical parody on the "drag" circuit. She did go after the "prince charming" character in the end. Oh yes, Princess Fiona was dancing with the "Prince Charming" and as he tried to kiss her, she asked, " is that sparkles on your lips?" With a rather obvious distaste for his some what self-centered and his "Renaissance Man" look, "queer eye for the straight guy" image or the "Metro-Man look. Suave, sophisticated, downtown hair do, image,

I think that last few lines cover it rather well.

So, I had fun until when backing up in the parking lot, I scraped the rear dorsal fin of the bumper on a concrete barrier wall while being careful and watching for other cars via the rear side window instead of using the side mirror. In a Ford XLT, I was sitting up to high to see the wall through the window, ouch!!! Spouse needless to say is not happy with this person right now but she became more reasonable as the night went on. ABS plastic, what can I say, I will have to sell one of my grandchildren to get it replaced.

Oh well, go see Shrek-2 and have fun. There are other interesting things that happen but I will keep that to myself for now.

So I guess i shuld take my grandson to see the movie? The trailers on TV make it seem like a pretty good show.

Hi,

I thought there were tons of TG'd references in there.

The ugly step sister was ugly.

She had a male voice, but no one ever said she was a guy.

They even made a reference to a gender confused wolf.

I thought it was great.

I'd recommend you go and see it and yes, take a child.

OK here is my 2 cents about this movie.

IT IS FANASTIC

I saw the same things also as every one else but I did not feel offended but I sometimes feel why does everyone have to be pleased I know we have a long way to go but come on lets not be one those people.

Oh yea it does not matter what age you are see this movie it is fun all areound I saw it by my self and the theater was about half full with kids and the biggest surprise is not one sound. I am always impressed when a movie can do that.

My SO and kid saw it and gave it a total of 4 thumbs up! I did like Eddie Murphy as the donkey the last time around so maybe I'll watch the video.

Hi Y'all,

I plan to see it as well as by the video when it comes out. I am an animated movie junkie. I will watch for the "good" parts when I go. All I've seen at this point is the trailers and I absolutely love the cat with the hairball.

A piece of trivia, just FYI: the ugly stepsister's voice was provided by Larry King.

I thought that I recognized the voice but could not place it as Larry King.

The "cat" is just too too funny.

Donkey does a great job as usual.

The movie was a little slow in parts, almost adult-like in theme and story line. That is, adult talk over dinner and other mid-movie parts as such. Language of course was good. The childen, about 50 - 60% of the audience were still and listened to everything. Hmmm... they will never be the same.

Had a great time girls.

LOVED this movie!!! Loved it! Loved it! LOVED it!!!

I also caught the part about the fairy godmother mentioning the "gender confused wolf", and who could miss the ugly stepsister bartender?

The Pinocchio rescue scene was the best!

As for how it was for children in general - I venture to say that it walked the same line as did the old Bugs Bunny cartoons from back in our day. I wouldn't say that it's a movie for really small children under 5 to see. 7 or 8 & up is generally a more ideal age group for this movie. There were also lots of cute spoofs of fairy tales, Disney movies, regular movies, and TV. I could not stop laughing!!!

Hello;

Saw the movie, thought that it was very funny. There were a lot of adult themes in the movie. Left with the impression that it wasn't exactly a kid's movie. The characters, animation and voices were great.

I did not realize before that the fairy Godmother was so wicked and that Prince Charming was her son. Shrek made a decent looking human and the donkey was a good looking Stallion....

I would like to see it again to catch some of the things that I missed the first time. The person behind me kept kicking the back of my seat and laughing so loud that I missed some of it.
