How to create that perfect three dimensional mouth.

Hi Girls!

Over the years many CD's have always asked me if it is possible to either have fuller lips or create a three dimensional mouth. So, here are my tricks that I have relied on for years.

Regarding fuller lips. Now unless you are will to do lip-ups on the wall for 1 hour a day (giggle , there are no quick solutions in achieveing fuller lips, unless you are willing to place 'Bengay' ointment on them for awhile (giggle, again . I know, does 'Bengay' really work, personally I've not tired it, but some CD's I've gotten to know, tell me it does.

Of course you can have them injected with, well you know, very expensive as far as I'm concered.

To create the three dimension mouth, first define the lipeline with a pencil, darker than the lip colour and lightly fill in the rest of the mouth. Then proceed to cover your entire lips with the lighter lip color up to the edge of the darker lipline. Leave a very thin darker lipline. Next take a lighter shade of lip color or gloss and apply to just the center and inside of the upper and lower lip, then blot. Re-apply if necessary or to acheieve the desire depth.

     In his book, Making Faces, Kevyn Aucoin used the fashion model, Naomi Campbell, to demonstrate a so-called “three-dimensional mouth” (added fullness). I will leave it to Vicki to decide whether this is equivalent to what she has described. (For those who own the book, see page 51.) The cosmetics used in this example are a neutral-toned lip pencil, some neutral pinky-beige lip color, and a lighter-than-pinky-beige shade of neutral lip color. Here are the steps:

1. Using a neutral lip pencil (slightly darker than your skin tone), draw in your lip shape. Fill in with the same pencil.
2. Over the pencil, cover with the neutral pinky-beige lip color, just to the edge of the lip pencil (use a lip brush for accuracy). Blot, re-apply, then blot again.
3. With your fingertip, dab the lighter shade of lipstick, just on the center of the lips. This step creates the illusion of added fullness.

This produces a rather pretty look. Kevyn Aucoin also demonstrated many other looks, using Jewel, Kate Moss, Gena Rowlands, Lisa Marie Pressley, and other celebrities, as well as more ordinary women (and men), to illustrate his makeup techniques. For me, Kevyn Aucoin’s books have been quite a revelation. They show the value of experimenting with makeup, finding what produces the look we want. It is amazing how much makeup can improve the “face” we present to the world. As time permits, I intend to keep experimenting. One of these days, I will change my avatar, and everyone here will think I’m an imposter ....
