Female form and corsets

Post by Francine »

Hi all,
Alexandra asked me to write a little about my corset and the figure it provides etc. [-o<

Even as a child I have always been attracted to corsets. Just something about this garment that that I like. I have searched for years trying to find one and gave up ever finding one until the internet arrived. I did the usual thing of buying many off the rack ones only to be disappointed with the fit. They usually ended up taking space in the drawer and not getting worn. :x

Then I stumbled upon Wasp Creations. www.waspcreations.com Amy Crowder is the brains behind this business as she too seached in vein to find a corset as well. She ended up making her own and building a nice business from it. I contacted her and had one built. I loved it so much and it was so comfy that I started wearing it many hours each day...even to business meetings! 8-[
When I started I had a 33" waist from the many years of shuffling papers and could only tighlace down to 29". My ribs would feel like they were one fire from the tension and inflexibility of these old bones. But little by little they became more flexible...making the time wearing it more pleasurable.

Shortly thereafter I decided to get on a exercise regime and started losing some excess lbs. to make me healthier and regain that once 29" waist I had long ago. As the months went by I found myself losing those inches and the coset fitting very loosely. I craved the tight feeling and so I had smaller and smaller ones made as the inches melted away. That was two years ago and I am within 1" of my goal.
Even at a 30" waist I am able to tightlace down to 25" and go all day this way. Clubbing, work, whatever. The feeling is intoxicating and the constant hug is wondeful. My goal is to be able to lace down to 24" from my 29" goal. Always have to have a brass ring to reach for.

As for my feminine look it is something that just makes me look all that much better. I wasn't blessed with fine features so I make up for it any where I can. I was blessed with my mothers hips and my dimensions are like this. 38-25-39. Add this to long legs and you have it....Francine! :)

I must say that loosing wieght and trying to get the right fit for a corset is not the right way to do this. It is expensive and sometimes frustrating. Amy and I have had many discussions on the phone and she has helped me find the right fit. One in particular was the pinched nerve that I had experienced on my right hip while wearing the corset. Amy has come to the conclusion that men need a little more room in this hip area so not to put pressure on the nerve. My new corset fits perfectly and even when tightlaced to the max 24" fits like a glove and feel great. The corset I currently wear is plain white with no frills. I had to find the right dimensions and fit before spending money foolishly. No that I have found the right fit I can go for the frills. That is soon to come.

A good custom fit corset is not cheap! It will set you back around $240. One thing I cannot express enough is this.....you get what you pay for! If you intend on tightlacing and having comfort this is the only way to go. There is also a great news article written about Wasp Creations at their web site you might want to read. http://www.pitch.com/issues/2003-01-09/ ... index.html

Any one reading this can obtain the same results I have. It just takes determination and hard work. O:)

Thanks for sharing Francine.

Two quick questions come to mind . . . how much wear and tear do these things take or how long will it last with regular use? And the other question: Is one able to self-tighten it or do you need an "assistant"?

Hmmmm? ;)

I have a question too? Do you have hips more like a woman now?

I thought of another question for the SO's who read this post. How would you feel about your CD'd SO wearing a corset to change their shape?

Hi Alexandra,
In reference to wear and tear they are rather bullet proof. Amy herself tight laces on a daily basis and for many years. She has targeted what wears out and why. This is what makes her so good at what she does. I have had mine for a couple of years now and they wear and wear. The life expectancy is lifa anything else. Care and cleanliness. There is a wide vriety of fabrics to choose form and also many styles all the way from the normal run of the mill corset all the way to a full body one if you so choose. :P

As for lacing it up I have to say it is not like you have seeen in pictures where someone has their foot in your back and struggling to tighten the laces.
I can easily tighten it myself. This all comes down again to the style of the grommets and the type of lacing material. The easier the lace slides through the grommets the easier it is to tighten it your self or with the help of a loved one. I might be a little more flexible than most people and do this with ease.

Hi Beauty,

I don't now how to answer the question about hips like a woman. My hip size never changes with or without the corset. They have always been 39". I don't know weather that is normal or not but when I tightlace the dramtic change in hip to waist ratio really gives the illusion of a female form. I have always liked this look and it bodes well with me as Francine. Hope this answers your question.

After reviewing the information and looking at the pictures it occured to me that a corset is going to incorporate the breasts to a degree . . . do you have to submit a preferred breast size with your order and you're stuck with that size??? If this is true, what about the girls who like to switch between "A" cups and "C" cups depending on their mood for the day?

Would one have to then select one of the few corsets that doesn't go up too high?

If you don't know, that's fine, I'll email Amy.

What are the drawbacks when en drabbe? What are happens when you are in male mode (do you still look like you have a femme body?)?

Hi Beauty,

The only draw back I know of is the feeling of someone grabbing hold of you and finding out and maybe feeling a little on edge. Other than this you would never know. I usually wear a tee shirt and dress shirt to work and keep the dress shirt bloused a little and there is now way you could even tell. I also know that my male waist gets about 1-2 inches larger. This is because the corseted waist is about 2 inches above our normal waist as guys. Just above the belly button. So I just wear larger slacks and a belt. It all works out and I get the constant hug.

Alexandra, Amy has only recently just started making corsets with cups attached. Usually you buy a corset so that it ends just at the pectoral muscle. This allows the user to fit with any type or bra needed regardless of cup size. For me I just wear either a bra or all in one briefer over it to smooth out the form underneath. The corset does leave a little bump wher the material ends and this helps especially with close fitting clothing.
