How CDing made me respect Women more

Post by Jill »

Being a crossdresser, I have come to have first-hand knowledge of the trials that women go through and must say that I have a deeper respect for women. I mean, I've always known that women deal with a lot but now I know a little better, with sort of first-person experience.

1. Getting ready. Men tend to get all annoyed with women when they take a long time to get ready. I realize now that it's just that it does indeed take a long time to put on make-up, put on the clothes, fix the hair, etc etc.

2. A man just shaves his face. A woman shaves her legs, which is around 20 to 25 times the surface area of the face!

3. Men usually don't worry about certain things like walking to their cars at night. I realize now, after having been followed and stalked at night, that women have need to be careful. There really is an open threat to women that men usually don't know through any first person experience. While getting cat-called is nice, there is a level of harrassment that happens that men don't deal with that women do. THis harrassment can be very annoying and sometimes downright scary. And this happens when i'm dressed conservatively!

4. Walking in heels! Heels can kill your feet, especially after long periods. I feel tense after a day at the office. Imagine how you'd feel a day at the office in heels! (In a way that sounds nice, but in another way i can see how it would 'sound' nice to a CD who hasn't done it but really, in actuality, wouldn't be so nice).

5. Getting up, getting into and out of your car, sitting down are activities that you don't 'just' do when you're wearing a skirt. You have to be careful!

6. Just wearing makeup for hours, you always have to make sure it's doing well on your face, not cracking, drying, rubbing, being smudged, etc. There are many things of which a woman must be conscious.

There are many others. Now, on top of this, imagine having terrible abdominal pains every month? Menstruation? Hats off to women!

Hi Jill

I have to agree with you, crossdressing has taught me a lot too. I have been followed a couple of times too and was nervous to say the least. Places I go as a male without the slightest fear are not the same places when I'm dressed. I try to be aware of my surroundings and I make sure I have my keys ready long before I reach my car. I learned long ago you can't hurry in high heels! So yeah, crossdressing has given me a glimpse of what women have to deal with all the time.

Yes Jill, my CD'ing has just reaffirmed to me what marvelous creatures that women are! Someone described their inheriant ability to see someone only for a split second and their brain is like a camera, it takes a picture and later they can call up that image and critique it from head to toe and if they like the shoes or the purse or the hair style or color it is filed for future reference -if not it goes to the "trash bin." And they can do this multiple times! And their intuitive powers are just that = power!!!
Wonderful folk these women and if a guy is lucky enought to get got by a good one - One can only hope that he has some realization of just how lucky he is!
Love,
Deborah
