Who, me? A Drag Queen?

Post by CJ »

Hi all,

Just got me some heels--but wait until you hear this. My father and his wife were in town earlier this week. They overnighted at my place on Monday and all three of us went shopping at the nearby local outdoor plaza early Tuesday morning. We managed to drag my dad into some of the thrift stores for a spell. While we were wandering in one of the stores (Dad as far away from the women's clothing section as he could, I might add), his wife and I went hunting for bargains of a lifetime. We caught sight of a couple of female employees giggling away in the shoe racks. Upon closer inspection, one of the girls was wearing a HUGE pair of high-heeled platform shoes that was obviously a million sizes too large for her while the other looked on and guffawed. I approached the tottering girl and asked her if I could see them. "Sure," she said, and added, "they just might be your size, too" with a big grin. "That's what I'm hoping," I replied, with a grin to match her own, while my dad's wife looked on, amused by the whole thing. Well, I bought the darn things. For the price of a burger and fries, to boot!

The shoes obviously used to belong to a drag artist; size 11, 2.5" platform with a 7" stiletto heel; sandal-type with a gold-buckled ankle-strap; all in a gritty pink glitter paint. They fit me like a glove (not that I actually tried them in the store, mind you). So, Christina now owns the basis for a perfectly off-the-wall (and off-the-rack) drag queen outfit. What next? Got any flashy leotards to lend me, Gaven? :P

Love,
CJ

Cj, I have heard that Canada requires a special driver's license to navigate in those boots! Any truth to that?

Well, they might've belonged to an exotic dancer with really big feet. Maybe? Yeah, right! I've never owned any shoes like that, but I've always wanted to try a pair on, just so I could say I had. The tallest pair I've ever worn have 4" heels. My female friends who know about my "hobby" are always amazed that I can manage in such shoes. All I can say is, "Practice! Practice!"

No flashy leotards Though I do have bodysuit that is rather flashy. I bought it from Spiegel. It was called Steel basicly it is a black nylon body suit with silver foil diamonds.

Hi all,

Stef,

I'm very much a full-figured gal, actually (you can probably tell by the photos on the gallery). I'm about 5'11" tall and weigh in at about 215 lbs--I'm partial to my slight excess as it gives me a bit of a rounder, curvy look. With the help of my trusted girdles and corsets, and depending on the clothing brand, I usually wear anything from a size 12 to a size 18. I once managed to "download" myself (there's no other word for it, trust me) into a size 10 back-zippered, black leather skirt only to find that merely walking around in it had become a science-fictional proposition. Thanks for the offer, Stef, but, if I should raid my own closets, I'm sure I'll find something outlandish enough to match the pink platforms. 8)

Gaven,

Sounds like a cool suit you've got there. I actually own a Danzkin metallic gray, full-body leotard (18% Spandex). It's oddly made, though; the left arm is a full sleeve while the right arm has nothing more than a shoulder strap. Very snug. I don't think it would match the shoes all that well, though. No, I need to find something flamboyant in a shimmering, flowing fabric (to catch the spotlights on stage, of course! ).

Jaye (pleased to meet you, by the way!),

I can't even begin to imagine under what circumstances I'd wear these shoes. I usually wear 2- or 3-inch heels at the most. Who knows? maybe I'll set up a fantasy photo shoot of some kind where my aim would be to "astound, amaze, and delight" (myself most of all, I guess). You know, when I get my camera back (I lent it to a friend recently), I'll take a photo of these pink skyscrapers and post it here somewhere.

Deborah,

The only thing you can drive in those shoes is a drag queen mad with envy. :P

Sally,

I'm not as big a fan of Hip Hop as I am of Trip Hop. And, now, I have the shoes to match.

Thanks for your comments, all of you. You'd be hard-pressed to imagine how much I've missed you all in my time away from the forum. :)

Love,
CJ

CJ,
Be careful Girl don't wear them when the sun is shining. All that glitter can be bad for your eyes.
