Nice Purse!

Post by Jaye »

This afternoon, I made what has become a nearly weekly pilgrimage to the Goodwill store. Right after I went in, I saw a purse that I liked, and decided to buy it. I hadn't intended to buy too many things, but of course I did. I didn't grab a shopping cart when I came in, so after a while my arms became loaded. I was dressed in male clothing, but without thinking, I slung the purse over my shoulder, and did not unsling it until I checked out.

The above comment was made by an obnoxious teenager. I couldn't think of anything snappy, so I just said, "Thanks! That's why I'm buying it." The kid just stared at me like I'd grown an extra head.

I haven't been out in full female dress in several years, but the purse felt completely natural. I've been carrying a "tote"-type shoulder bag back and forth to work the last few years, so maybe I've just become accustomed. It certainly beats trying to haul around everything one needs in one's pockets.

I think that was a very mature response. Good for you.

It appears that from the comments of a lot of my sisters, teenagers and expecially teenage girls can be vicious, I would try and avoid them as much as possible, especially groups of teenage girls. You done good with the purse however.

Jaye,

Excellent reply.

Maybe the teenage girl liked the purse and wanted it, but you beat her to it so she was jealous - at least that's the way I prefer to look at it.
