Car jackers.

Car jacking scheme - NOT A JOKE

Be aware of new car-jacking scheme (This could also be used as a
ploy for kidnapping)

Imagine: It doesn't matter what mode you are dressed in at the time, it matters not to car jackers whether you are male or female, but you walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside.
Then you lock all your doors, start the engine and shift into REVERSE, and
you look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your parking space and you
notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window.

So, you shift into PARK, unlock your doors and jump out off your
car to
remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view.

When you reach the back of your car, that is when the car-jackers appear out
of nowhere, jump into your car and take off!!

Your engine was running, you would have your purse in the car and they
practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED.

Just drive away and remove the paper that is stuck to your window later. I hope you will all forward this to
friends and family especially to women! A purse contains all identification,
and you certainly do NOT want someone getting your home address.
They already HAVE your keys!!!!!

Kind Regards.

Sally,

Thank you for the warning.

I try to park so that I don't have to back out of the parking spot to leave. When I'm parking where there is a double row of cars, I look for a spot I can drive through so the front of the car is facing out. If that's not practical, I will consider backing into a spot.

Until about 3 months ago, I didn't worry much about someone wanting to steal my 12 year old Ford Escort rustbucket, but it finally wore out and I'm more careful with my new Focus. I always have tried to park near to new luxury or sport cars or convertables (a more inviting target for thieves in my opinion) and not leave tempting items in plain sight. I at least try to put small items in the covered cargo compartment or at least put them under a blanket that's usually in the back seat.

Thanks for the warning. I to try to park where I can pull straight through. I have a red Cougar, so it is pretty hard to miss in a parking lot. When entering a lot, I always have my keys in hand with my thumb on the "panic" button of the remote and two others right at the pepper spray. No gun in my purse, but there is a stunner.

I beleive we have a lot more thing to worry about here in my home town. Though I will take it to heart what you say. Yesterday two men in a white van tried to get two girls to come into it. They smartly refused and kept there distance (from what the news has reported). I Believe we should (everyone) keep your eyes oen to the dangerous such as this and not lwt a child get kidnapped.
