Why Do Girls Think Shopping Is Better Than Chocolate ?

Post by Marda »

Hi Girls

Yesterday, like any other girl, I got "stuck" at the mall rummaging through Clearance Racks and scored a few "Bargains" on some "Essentials" ... top, chemise, panties =D>

The "Bonus" was I "Saved" enough on those items to "Justify" the "Purchase"* of 2 new and also "Essential" bras =D>

Ahead of me at the checkout were 3 girls buying matching white sandals on Clearance in the shoe dept ... the sandals, I'm sorry to say, were absolute garbage #-o

But the girls were having a *Hoot* ... they were convinced they had each just saved $40 ... in fact I doubt the sandals would have been worth half of the $10 they did pay #-o

But *No Worry* ... that's just a technicality ... the fact is those 3 girls were on a *Real High* =D>

While I quite realize we girls do *Not* have to *Explain* these matters to anyone, can someone *EXPLAIN* to me what goes on with us about *SHOPPING* :-k

Why *IS SHOPPING BETTER THAN CHOCOLATE* ? [-o<

Please *EXPLAIN WITH EXAMPLES* [-X

Love / Marda

Heehee Jasmine, if I could go out dress up without feeling scared I would be such a happy camper :) If I was a girl I think I would be out shopping every single day :)

Marda: I hate shopping also as some of the others have stated. But I love Chocolate. I went for my weekly grocery run yesterday and half of the bags was different forms of chocolate. Gee.

Hi all,

I love bargain-hunting more than I do typical shopping.

I bargain-hunt for books, for sexy clothes, for shoes, for games, and for DVDs. Chocolate is one thing I'll actually shop for, along with coffee. :P Some of these are a pleasure for the mind, some a pleasure for the body, and still others a pleasure for both.

There are a number of Belgian chocolatiers, here in Montreal--I try to visit them once in a while... it's just that, these days, I'm not too keen on paying more for 60g of the sweet stuff than I am for a good pair of silky panties. [-X

Marda,

I'm not so sure that girls necessarily prefer shopping to chocolate (well, not the girls I know, anyway :P ). I don't know, maybe it has something to do with the fact that, although the GGs I know always shop for themselves, they more often receive chocolate as a gift. I've known even a lowly Cadbury Dairy Milk, say, to light up a friend's face when I gave one to her.

For the more technically (and less romantically) minded, chocolate has a definite effect on the brain; it slows down the breakdown of anandamide, a neurotransmitter naturally produced by the brain. Anandamide has opioid qualities not unlike those of THC (the active ingredient in marijuana). In other words, chocolate produces a subtle high. That there are such people as "chocoholics" might be due, in part, to this fact. Now, the question is, "what neurotransmitter is it that runs wild in the brains of shopaholics?" :P

Love,
CJ

Hi Girls,

Hey_CJ ... *Great* points =D> Very insightful reply ... *now* I have lots more to sKratch my head about ("that wig *is* going to finally fit me some day)

Kurious stuff here ... maybe I'm getting some clues as to why so many of my customers in the LWS were so *Miserable* ... they "hated" shopping

Facts - Ladies Wear stores outnumbered Mens Wear by 8:1 ... Ladies Wear outnumbered Chocolate shops by 12:1 ... I won't go into "average transaction" or "item $ value", but CJ has a very good point about the cost of "quality" chocolate vs "quality" panties ...

(and we're not talking "$ / pound" in this case either ... or *durability* ... and *most* chocolate *does* taste better than *most* panties  ) ...
Excuse me ... I digress ...

Anywaze ... believe me girls ... women shopper keep a major part of the "western" consumer goods economy rolling along (after subtracting "Big $ items" - "service industries" *not* included) and *If* one examined the "amount" of "activity / $", and "/ item", *women* shoppers would simply *Rule* the World

One of my earlier lessons in the Ladies Wear Biz was "Never get in the way of a woman on a *serious* shopping mission" [-X

Thanx so far ladies =D> More stories & opinions Pleez

Deborah enjoys shopping up to the point where she finds some really beautiful skirts or blouses and they don't fit!!!! I don't know how many times, especially at Goodwill, that I have come across some really expensive and beautiful things and I just know I can't wear them because, in most cases they are too small ( I am losing weight, but I doubt I'll ever reach the point were they will be too big :) :) ) I have come across silk blouses that must cost $200+ new and they are too small. I did luck out that time and found that absolutely georgeous red silk skirt, so light it practically floats, and to wear it, soooooooo feminine!
Anyway the thrill of the hunt and stop mentioning chocolate, some of us are on diets
Love,
Deborah

The love of money is the root of all evil. The love of things that money buys? That's just our blessed materialism. O:)

Howdy Gang,

I have the opposite problem, the clothes I find that I like are generally too large for me :( I have to shop in the Teens Department to find clothes I like that actually fit me. They just don't make a large variety of styles for the petite woman. And what they do have is usually pretty ugly, in my opinion.

I hate shopping, I hate shopping, I hate shopping :(

Hi all,

I'm not a big fan of the 'C' word, but love scouring the second hand shops for records to add to my collection, ( there is still a wall in the house free ), I also lookout for books, and of course any clothes I can get my hands on.

~D~ would love to nibble on the 'C' word more than she does, but she tries to watch her weight. So it's the clothes she goes for.

Now, did I hear CJ suggest we all go get stoned 8)

Maybe for a sunday JOINT, we could have a POT roast

Do we have to choose here?

I'm a choc-a-holic AND a shop-a-holic...at least when it comes to Christine.

Guess I'd have to eat chocolate while shopping, eh? =D>

Simple solutions to simple problems!
