Hi all,

Hmmm... many of the movie choices here are intriguing.

City of Lost Children, Jessie? I also liked that film. I'm a big fan of dark dystopias (1984, Brazil, Dark City, The Matrix, THX-1138, Soylent Green, Blade Runner, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang  ) but I don't know if I'd call them "uplifting," in the sense Rebecca mentioned in her first post in this thread. Many of these cautionary tales are thought-provoking, to be sure; maybe, in that sense, they are uplifting, I guess. They make you reflect and ponder. Still, I personally find them a little bit dry, emotionally.

Rebecca,

Careful what you love... the ghosts of the Belascos are apt to come looking for you! :P "For the sake of your sanity, pray it isn't true." Isn't Roddy McDowell just grand? The film came out in 1973. It was written by one of my favourite authors, Richard Matheson.

Love,
CJ
