How I started
Actually, I have just remembered something, as I have always remembered first dressing when i was 11, but thinking about it, something happened first, when i was 10. I can remember my mum and dads bedroom being decorated, and a lot of my mum and dads stuff was piled on the floor in my room. One of these things was my mums shoe rack. I remember being about to get dressed and i took a pair of mums shoes off the rack and tried them on. They were far too big for me, but i liked them. However, it was not until a year later that things really started.
I was taking a pile of fresh laundry upstairs (a pile of my clothes, pile of dads, pile of my brothers, and a pile of my mums). in my mums pile was a pair of tights, and i just had this urge to try them on. I slipped into the bathroom and put them on. The feel of them was so lovely. From there i progressed to underwear, and then clothing and shoes. A few years later (i think i was 14 or 15) i was caught, but mum (after being upset initally) said that if i wanted to crossdress, i could do so, but i had to save up for my own stuff, i was never to touch her stuff again, and i could only dress when the house was empty. This is something that still stands to this day (yes, I still live at home, as i cannot afford to move out). I dress at every opportunity. Sometimes this can be every few days, sometimes weeks, but i respect my mum's views on this, so im not going to upset her by insisting i dress all the time. One day i will be able to afford my own place and then i can do as i wish.

Hi Tracy,
So many of us have similar beginnings, I find it quite comforting in a way.
Seems like you and your mum have found a nice balance, as you say, you respect her wishes as you are living in their house,
When you do manage to get a place of your own, you will be able to really explore your femme side and be able to find your own personal balance with who you are.
Thanks for posting your early days
Love

thanks for the nice words rebecca. Yes, it does seem many of us have similar stories as to how we began dressing.
Yes, the balance at home is good and, fortunately, I do not feel the need to dress 24/7 (with no offence to anyone that does), so i dont have problems going days/weeks without dressing. In fact, it makes it something to look forward to, i think.
Take care

I'm so pleased for you to b so close to your mum and having a mother that is enlightened enough to accept you for you..
I do agree that you must have respect and honor for your mother's wishes.. alot of children these days are brought up with no respect for their parents...
Not wanting to put a dampener on this but not all parents are as acceptable to us as we would all like
but that hasnt stopped me from exploring my femininity

crossdressing isnt a hobby, its the way of expressing your inner woman.

Hi Pauline,
I see you are from Birmingham. My nan on my mums side was from Birmingham, but she married a scouser, and the rest is history (well, for me it is anyway - he he)...
Yes, I've always been brought up to be respectful to others (especially my mum - awh!!!).. And she has done so many things for me, that it wouldnt be nice of me to go against her wishes. It just makes the time that i am able to dress, a bit more special (thats how i look at it anyway).
I also agree that a lot of parents arent understanding about crossdressing. In the beginning even i got asked, "well are you gay?", etc etc. Now, I'm not gay (not a problem at all if i was, but I'm not - thats just how it is). But it does go to show that a lot of people think that if you crossdress then automatically you are gay.

Yep where would a man be without his mum? Through thick and thin she has stuck by me. Even now that she is 85 and I am 52 she still looks out for me.
My wife and I have the same deal, "dress if it pleases you but dont leave your gear where the kids will find it". Wearing it in bed is taboo too!
I dont feel the need to dress 24 / 7 anymore. I tried it several years ago. I got bored after two days. It was a hot summer, and I felt really uncomfortable.
I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to get your own place, if I were you.

Hi Tracy,
Great story!
Like Rebecca said there are soooo many similarities between our stories.
Mine is similar to yours. I was just a wee bit younger when I started wearing femme things. It's great that when your mom discovered this she said, "Well.. ok"
I also think you're a great hubby for telling your wife!!!

Do you think your mom being accepting helped you to be more open with your wife upfront about your CD'ing?
If you read other posts you'll see I always say how much I love beginnings posts.
Well, I loved this one too!

Thanks Tracy!!!

hi beauty, thanks for your kind words. Im a little confused though. I am wondering if i have typed something to be misinterpreted as me being married. I am not married, I still live at home with my parents. If I've typed something to make you think i was married, Im sorry.
Anyway, as i said, thanks for you kind words
