Hi UKGoth,

I love the goth scene. Although my taste in music runs all across the board, I'm especially partial to 80s New Wave and Industrial music. 8)

My range is vast,

I enjoy anything from AC/DC to classical , I dont have any particular favorite group and enjoy 60s, 70s, modern etc.
My taste is off the planet at times , I have incidental music scores from Lost in space , time tunell, the day the earth stood still and sound effects from those shows.
Its common for the neighbours to hear the Jupiter2 blast off from my bedroom.

I think I might have already answered you before, but I like this thread so I'll answer again. I like late 70's early 80's punk-goth. Bands like Killing Joke, Fad Gadget, Specials, Siouxsie, Japan, Damned, Alien Sex Fiend.

I also like ABBA-Probably because of the song Dancing Queen.

I listen to a little bit of everything, but mostly rock of different kinds. The presets in my car are set for three stations: WEND(new rock), WFRX(classic rock) and WXRC (classic rock without all the hype). My last three CD purchases were Franz Ferdinand, Lacuna Coil and... The Best of the Doobie Brothers.

Well, Day to day it is the classical rock Stevee Ray Vaughan, the Doors, the Animals, But I like chet akins and so many more great guitar players. I also love the sound of bagpipes and the Irish sounds. I have a lot of music of celtic nature.

Many nights on the drive to Texas to see the wife from Kentucky were I work, I listen to it all. Mainly the Guitarist Kenny Lee Sheppard and stevey ray vaughan.

Gee.

Hi girls,

Music ??? Aw, don't get me started....oh all right then, I'll try to keep it short.

I was raised on rock'n'roll and Jazz, though donovan and the Beatles etc etc crept in. Then at around 12 I had an awakening with Zappa, Mahavishnu and Hendrix. I loved the classical music I heard at school and then I discovered pop in the early 70's Browsing the local second hand record shop I discovered Faust, Can, Amon Duul II etc etc, then when I was 18 I had a girlfriend who's brother played in a folk band, so I got into folk as well. Oh, I forgot, lots of friends I had when I was 16 were heavily into heavy rock and some into Todd Rundgren. When I started to go to clubs I loved trancy dancy stuff, and erm....oh yeah, when I was on stage we often played weddings etc, so a lot of 'old standards' took a liking to me. And.........well there's loads more........I like music.

Love to all

I'm old, I like most of the old big band stuff, Glen Miller, Hoagy Carmichael, Dorsy brothers, Gene Krupa, Benny Goodman, My Fav is Gene Krupa doing Sing Sing Sing at Carnigie Hall in 1938. First recording of drum solo in jazz music. Glen Miller helped him a lot because he could not read music at that time. Very cool, most drummers of today can be traced back to Gene. He set up the way drummers play even today. I do have most of the 60's ,70's some 80's. REO, 38 special, ACDC,Journey, Eagles, Doobie, brothers the Who, Jimi,Cream. But if I could play again it would be big band for me..............kristen

Hi all,

Merinda wrote: Its common for the neighbours to hear the Jupiter2 blast off from my bedroom. Urm, ah, just makes me wonder what the heck's going on behind those doors, eh?

For those of you that like Celtic fusion, an interesting artist is Loreena McKennitt. Her official website (the flash version has one of her best-known songs playing in the background): http://www.quinlanroad.com/

As for my own musical tastes, imagine a wedding where Trent Reznor is the groom, Tori Amos the bride, Johhny Cash the best man, Norah Jones the maid of honour, Marilyn Manson the priest, Eminem and Antonio Vivaldi altar boys, and where the choir consists of Brendan Perry, Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance), Lyle Lovett, Rob Zombie, Ella Fitzgerald, Kate Bush, Chet Baker, and Janis Joplin, with wedding reception music provided by Angelo Badalamenti, Orbital, Glenn Miller, Bootsy Collins, FSOL, Gerry Mulligan, the Orb, Love and Rockets, and J.S. Bach... not necessarily in that order. :P

Love,
CJ

Great thread... I also enjoy a very wide variety of music myself.
I guess it all just depends on what I am in the mood for.

Hugs,

I have to reply as one of the topics I love is music. I consider my self to have eclectic music taste. I love everything from Celtic rock to clasical and just about any thing in between. It is easier for me to say what I don't like then what I do like. I can not Stand Gangsta Crap. The stuff that has way more bass then melody. You need more then a bass drum to make music.
