I love heels, today I bought a pair of 3 3/4 inch tan, closed toe pumps. They feel great, and I can't wait to wear them out and about.
I have to make myself wear something besides heels if I am out during the day because of the need to blend in. But, when the night comes, baby lets go!

Hi Elizabeth,

Truth be told, after a few hours of wearing even heels over 3" , my feet will start to hurt like the dickens. Hence what I do when I'm travelling to & from the city on a Saturday night is that I wear my sneakers and change into my shoes once I reach my destination. Yet for some odd reason I can wear stiletto boots for hours without a problem.

Interestingly enough, I have recently seen more and more GGs wearing flats... :-k

Lorna, that is the same for me. I can wear any of my boots for hrs and hrs and walk really comfy but with heels I can walk in them but they are not as comfy. I can walk about I would say an hr in heels and then I will need a rest :)

However, I could not dress up and not wear heels, it's for me the most important part of feeling femme :)

Hi Lorna, Sophie

Boots give your ankles a lot more support. My guess is that, that is your weak link. Not that, that is bad. I don't have any boots to compare with, except my work boots, which I don't even know where they are any more.

Anyway, thanks for your imput.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Walking out in heels

Post by Kerri »

Hi Kristen, Why do you walk out late at night? If you are afraid of being caught this is more likely to happen at night than during the day.

At night every male you meet is like a "Wolf" looking for new girl friend. He is going to study you, and is more likely to notice when you flinch under his gaze.

During the day, find somewhere really busy. The concourse of a railway station or a busy shopping mall. Dress to blend in with the crowd and believe me you will be invisible.

Just avoid being out at weekends and during school holidays. If anyone s going to single you out, it will be a teenage girl.

Two tips for walking out. (1) Carry a spare wig in your purse. (2) Have a refuge nearby. My car is always my starting point.

Kerry, I see you have done this before. I am very careful where I have been going. Daylight scares the ebee gebee's out of me sunlight is so harsh.
The advice you have given me is greatly appreciated.
No railroad station here, We are Americans, we have no Mass Transit. We are so behind in so many ways from the rest of the world. Our idea of mass transit is another highway. Roads, Single passenger cars....Stupid
But a mall would be nice place to start, I thank you for your help it really means that you been reading my posts and thinking of me. That is so sweet.
A refuge is good, but why the spare wig?
Yes, that dreaded teenage girl. So quick on the lookout. ........... Thank you so much.
Love, Kristen

Hi Kristen,

The spare wig is for that occasion that a youth may think it a hoot to steal your wig after he / she "Reads" that you are really a man in a dress.
Without your wig everyone will Read you. The spare is your insurance.

(This is my second reply, my first was lost when the site hung on me).

Kerry, Thanks for being so persistant. Oh yeah the Jerry Springer thing, I would of never thought of that guess I have led a sheltered life. That would be mean, really really mean. So have you had that happen or have you seen it happen? Questions I have a miilion of them. I hope it has not happened to you.

It hasnt happened to me....

Post by Kerri »

Hi Kristen,

I learned about the spare wig in 1988. I used to drive from my home in Cambridge to Colwyn Bay in North Wales for a TV Weekend with about 100 other TV's from around the UK.

This tip was part of the advice given to all new members at that time.
I have never known anyone it has happened to, yet....

I do risk assessments for a job. I think the level of risk is high and the solution is so easy. I keep a short haired feminine wig in my purse.

Nite Nite

heels

Post by Needra »

Hi Ladies: Its funny I found your post Elizabeth, cause I just said ,on another forum board -I think the higher the heel the easyier(sp) it is to walk --we're not talking about comfert here-- :) I find in those low heels my ankle is always twisting in or out -I think it looks really dumb -Nee (or ankle)

Needra,

The higher the heel, the more you are forced to walk on the ball of your foot, like a girl, as opposed to walking on your heel like man. Generally speaking I put no weight at all on the heel itself, so it does not matter what size heel I am wearing.

Like I said, working on ladders gets you accustomed to putting your weight on the balls of your feet. If you focus on that, it will not matter what size heel you are wearing or how much of a point it comes to, because it is just for balance anyway. However, the higher the heel, the more it stretches the tendons in the front your your leg, which control your ability to raise your foot and big toe. These can get very sore.

All I know is that I love heels, and I love girls shoes in general, and if I had the money Emelda Marcos would have nothing on me.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Well, the boots I spoke of earlier (that I wore to work) are no more, and I haven't had the money to replace them (this paycheck, maybe), so I've been wearing a pair of Dr. Scholl's loafers to work in the meantime. I also didn't wear heels of any kind during the week I spent in VA, so my feet/legs were missing the tension. I'm working nights almost exclusively, now, so I've taken to bringing a pair of pumps with me to work. After my relief leaves, I slip out of my loafers and into the pumps. I switch back just before my relief arrives. I get a few hours in heels, and that seems to help.
