What do to about my size?!
Okay, the problem: I'm genetically built like a football player! I have a rather broad chest and shoulders, I'm 6'1" and the best weight I've been since high school has been 220lbs. At 220 I look fit, but if I could get down to 200 I'd look appropriately slim for my build.
Also, my current job requires a lot of lifting and physical effort, so my arms a bit more muscular and defined than a woman's normally.
My question: Any tips/suggestions out there on de-emphasising my natural build? I did another post which linked to a webpage about the type of clothing would help.
I'm curious about things like bra/breast size. What to shoot for as far as cup size when I dress. My wife thinks going for D with my size, but would that be too much with my broad chest? (chest measurement just below breasts is 42!) I'm pondering trying some breastforms, thus trying to figure out what may look best before I spend the money.
Also, since I'm tall, should I do something to make myself look not so tall? Or just go with the height? I do have nice looking, slender legs that do have decent muscle tone, but as I mentioned above I'm plagued by my muscular calves due to work and just the way I was born.
I know I'm long winded here, so will cut it short with one last question: Any other "big" girls out there that have gone out en femme? Able to pass as a taller, larger figured woman or will I stand out more?

I have a very overweight friend, ummm....by this point in time she probably isn't so overweight any more
She was under doctor's orders to lose weight. Anywho, I digress.....My friend always wore the "right" clothes and she looked beautiful!

Re: What do to about my size?!
I am at least 6-1 and currently 280-290 pounds (my doctor is also trying to get my weight down) and have gone out, in daylight, en femme.
A few weeks ago I spent two days as totally dressed as I could. One day went shopping in some indoor shopping malls. One day spent at a not too near-by outlet area.
I bought several items at at least two stores the first day.
I went out a third time on a Saturday evening and even tried on a few outfits in a women's clothing store!
I take my cues from a few women I know. One is, I think, taller than I and possibly as broad. Also, there is her daughter (a junior (third year) in High School who is close to my height.
My philosophy is to give people as many visual cues of a woman as I can. This includes long hair (wig), breasts (currently wearing a 46D bra but have worn larger), as small a waist as I can manage (about 44 inch) and wide hips and a big butt (home-made from foam). Add some makeup (shaped eyebrows) and pierced ears with earrings, and some fake nails polished and I hope they don't automatically say "man in a dress"!
I have a few pictures from one day in the picture gallery under ConnieDonaldson.

Here are instructions posted by Ahzz. They pretty much cover the way I do it...on the wider hips and bigger butt... you have any advice for making them out of foam at home?

Thanks connie.
I had totally forgotten that I'd posted that.
Now if I can only find the web page that described howt to choose a breast size that "fits" your body... 8-P
I've been exerimenting over the last few years with varying sizes of "bobs" (plastic garbage bags tied off tightly with water are really cheap, but poor for anything other than getting an estimate of size due to "floppyness". *sigh*). So far a b/c looks the most natural for me. (5'2, 125lb, moderate muscle, 34 chest, 28 waist, 30 hips).
Don't go overboard with the hips/butt. It's easy to do when you first try "padding". Course, self made ones are a bit easier to "resize down" if you start feeling a little TOO much hip and/or butt.
I seriously doubt I'll ever do anything other than forms. Just a personal preference.
My only problem is that I don't yet have any of my own clothing or bras. Thank god Jassmine's stuff is darn close and she's willign to let me borrow them as long as I don't make them "stinky"

Hi Ahzz,
Actually, my problem (in my opinion) was that the padding wasn't thick enough for my build, to make my body look right. My current set (my third or fourth that I've made) give me about the look I want, also, jeans and such do fit better.
For breasts, I think most natural for me is a D (46D bra) but I have a pair that I wear with a 48DD bra, they are pretty extreme!
Anyway, thanks for that post on making them, as I have been trying to figure what type of garment to use to hold the padding on.

Jasmyne,
My sad story, as a world record holder in powerlifting, I had some good features, and some challenging ones! Arms, for example, 18" just don't look right in a sun dress, so I wear long sleeves. You can get away with sheer material though to keep cool. Lots of sit-ups to keep the tummy flat! and squats for the rump! My legs are, shall I say "shapely" but somewhat on the large size, so longer skirts are the norm, even though I think I look good in a mini! Depending on the type of forms you use, I have good luck with Pals, I get a full figure bra in either a "C" or "D" cup depending on the manufacturer ( as you know they don't all use the same general size charts.) I have my best fits with Olga and Vasserette. As for the hip area, if you have a "nice butt" then that helps, if not, wearing hip length blouses, not tucked in helps to. My problem now is I have a probable career ending shoulder injury and I have dropped my weight from 200 down to 180 and I look mavelous! but now some of my favorite outfits don't quite fit! the bright side is "When the going gets tough - the tough go shopping!"
And the key ingedient, is a confident smile!!!!
Good luck and let us know how you are doing!

Got a pair of spandex shorts?Connie wrote:Hi Ahzz,

Once you have em sized right, make a second pair. Keep the first so you have a "model" to make more from because they will probably get messed up eventually through acidents. 8-P
I wouldn't do anything other than to carefully create a pocket with some soft slightly stretchable cloth on the inside of the spandex to try to hide the seam lines. Having a sewing machine here helps.
Let me know how they end up. I have NOT tried this myself since I don't really have a desire to fill out my hipps or butt. But I have done a LOT of web cruising in my never ending hobby of suring the net for info.
Good luck! and sorry it took me a couple days to respond. ;-P Been quite busy here.

Thinking about breasts
Hi yer,
Its a big problem getting the best sized breasts.
I weight 94 Kg and am 6' tall.
I have just bought a pair of forms rom the following Shop on Ebay.
http://stores.ebay.com/NATURAL-or-NOT-O ... -Will-Know
I bought Size 9 in Super Perky style. I support them with a UK Size 40E bra. If I had to choose again I would go for Size 8.
This is my second pair, my originals now worn out are only a size 5 and are way to small for my build.
Hope this helps,
Love

Re: What do to about my size?!
220! I wish I could even get close to that figure, but your not the only large guy to dress as a woman, there are many of us Big Girls Out there!Jasmyne wrote:Okay, the problem: I'm genetically built like a football player! If you have large arms your'll be best with loose fitting sleaves, to disguise the size of them, if you wear tight clothing it will just show the size you are. this works with a larger tummy to, ie a loose long top works much better than a short tight one!Jasmyne wrote: Also, my current job requires a lot of lifting and physical effort, so my arms a bit more muscular and defined than a woman's normally.

Yes, there are many rules about different clothing on larger people, the rules are the same for men as they are for women. many sites cover this on the net, ie not wearing stripes, or blanketing yourself with all the same colour clothes so you just look like one big one colour canvas etc. time to google!Jasmyne wrote: My question: Any tips/suggestions out there on de-emphasising my natural build? I did another post which linked to a webpage about the type of clothing would help.

Big girls have big breast, So your not going to look right with two fried eggs sat on your chest! basically I buy bras in the UK by the dress size I am, and I have a pair of large breast forms, I'm a large girl, so I should have a large chest. personally if your going to spend money and pay for breast forms, this is the one instance where I would recomending a transvestite retailer, yep you will pay more, but get the chance to try them on and see what looks right for youJasmyne wrote: I'm curious about things like bra/breast size. many larger women do have great pins, but some don't the question of hieght is basically a case of does it suit you, and coming in at 220 pounds can you walk and be comfortable in heals. basically you can only try, there are tall ladies as well as very short ones, so it's down to your over all look and the hieght suiting you, rather than the heels doing so. (however remember if you wear 4" inch heels, and a big wig, this is going to send your total hieght over 6"6 and on towards 6"8, so it's a question of trial and error, ie if you need big hair, it might be best to try flater shoes first (you certainly will be more comfortable in them!)Jasmyne wrote: Also, since I'm tall, should I do something to make myself look not so tall? you can always wear longer skirts or dresses to hide your calves!
Many larger TV's can pass with out problems it's very much the same with any other TV passing out. it not a case of your shape, looks, size, or how tall you really are under the disguise. it's a case of looking the part your playing and getting it right, and having confidence and belief in the forefilling the role!Jasmyne wrote: I know I'm long winded here, so will cut it short with one last question: Any other "big" girls out there that have gone out en femme? Woman thankfully come in all shapes and sizes, therefore if you can look the part and dress right, and carry yourself well, you should have no problems in passing. ie get all the following looking right, ie your wig/hair your make up, your bust line/cleavage, your clothes, your shoes, and most of all your confidence, and atitutude and you should pass with ease!
Good luck, feel free to ask, or PM me if you need to.

Hi Jasmyne.
I am familiar with the problem. Wide chests are tough to deal with. I'm an older TS just transitioning, and had a consult with a plastic surgeon about BA and other things. With my chest, he recommended a final bust of either a C+ or a small D. The prosthetics (filled) he used for demo looked large to me at D, and about right at C, but he maintained I needed a D (550cc) for esthetics as it would need to spread out on my chest somewhat--as my current natural A cup does. Gonna feel heaa-vy, and make a good fitting bra a must.
Hope that helps. Carolynn
