Shopping

Post by Patty M »

Hi Ladies,

Since I got my forms, I've wanted a pocket bra to hold them. Yesterday I called a few shops in my area and asked if they had a problem serving males. All said no but one told me that she has spent many hours with men and has never sold a mastectomy bra to them, seems that all they wanted was a thrill. I assured her that I was serious about buying and would even pay up front before trying on. She did check to see if she had my size but, alas, did not.

I then found another shop and she had my size and was willing to work with me. When I got there I was amazed how easy it was to talk to her since she had already talked to me about what I wanted. I found a Jodee bra that fit me well. As a bonus, she had a rack of open bottom girdles on clearance (discontinued models). I found a Rago Shapette for only $5.50! She did not mind me trying on but wanted me to try the bra over my light shirt and the girdle, she did not ask any special. Well, Gotta go now.

Love,
Patty

Patty,
Way to go! We are making progress are we not? I guess I am fortunate in that I have two sets of Pals and I like Bali or Olga bras and have not had any problem with "slippage." I can only speak from personal experience, but it seems if you get the proper fitting bra the "pockets" really are not necessary. Anyway congratulations on your venture and keep us posted as you develop a wardrobe.
