I'd just removed last night's cute lilac sparkly nail polish and Cathy said "oh poor you, you've got to take off your nail polish for the footy". We had a chat about how years ago (when I didn't consider myself to be a crossdresser) I would often be out in public wearing nail polish, usually silver or black, with long dangly earrings, always silver and one or two in left ear only. Didn't think twice about it then, even wore nail polish and earrings to work (office job).
Nowadays though, when I proudly say "I am a crossdresser" (admittedly from right at the back of the closet
So today I will be wearing nail polish to the match (and pubs afterwards, of course). Cathy is going to wear nail polish too. This gives me a two stage get-out - 1. today's game is FA Cup first qualifying round, traditionally a time when our teams fans wear "lucky" things ... lucky pants, lucky socks, lucky baseball hats etc. Today I'm wearing lucky nail polish (sparkly golden brown). 2. If pressed me'n'Cath had a drunken nail polish party yesterday ... and both decided to wear it to the match for luck.
Of course if we win I'll simply have to wear polish to the next game. If we lose then today's was simply the wrong colour and I'll have to try another colour at the next match ... the cute sparkly lilac springs to mind.
One small step for Amandakind ...
