it's that time year again

Post by Sally »

Every year here, the last Saturday in September is Grand Final day for the Australian Football League, so this weekend I'm off to Melbourne to see the two final teams go head to head for the premiership trophy. I'm flying down this time as it's a seven hour drive over the mountains, whereas it's only just a tad over an hour flying time. It also gives me more time to catch up with friends and family.

I'll be amongst 90,000 people at the match, but I'll be with my two life long friends and their wives, the three of us women will give the guys hell if our team ( the Brisbane Lions) wins again, as we always barrack for the team opposite to that which they are barracking for. I'll also be visiting the hairdresser, hitting the shops etc and spending time, including a night on the town, with long time CD and TS friends, so I'm really excited about this weekend, it's always a real hoot.

Kind Regards to all.

Sally.

Hi sally ,

Remember to wear summer clothing with winter clothing over the top
Melbourne weather can change 4 seasons in 15 minutes at this time of year

My fellow Victorians are all having a moan that there is no victorian side in the grand final , last year my team Collingwood was not supported by fellow victorians in the grand final " they cant have it both ways".

If the Brisbane Lions win it will be 4 in a row , good luck and enjoy your stay Sally.

Hi Merinda,

I'll be well prepared for the weather, to be sure. (It's currently 24c up here atm lol) I lived in Melbourne for 20 years, out Preston way, so I know how erratic the weather can can be, summer in the morning, winter in the afternoon. I was down there recently to go to a match and had a great time, we also went out on the saturday night to an over 28's dance party. Had a ball.

I guess it had to happen where a grand final came about without any Victorian teams in it, we can't stop progress and I think we shall see this happen from time to time. As a Fitzroy supporter I had to go with the Lions as you would understand.

As for Collingwood, as you know, you either love them or hate them and I'm sorry but it blew me away the last two years watching the Lions beat them in successive grand finals.. =D> . C'arn the Lionssssssssssssssssss., 4 premierships in succession coming up.

Kind Regards.

Sally.

Hi sally ,

Last years Gf could be considered Queensland Vs Victoria and everybody decided that they would rather see an interstate side win, rather than Collingwood who were representing their state of Victoria

As a consiquence , this year all Collingwood suporters will support any NON VICTORIAN side .

As it stands I'm happy with the 2 interstate teams while the rest of Victoria can have a sook.
