OK i know bit of an odd topic
But a l borrowed the DVD from a friend the other night
he told me to watch it he said it was good i said no thx couse i'm more of an Erich von Danniken kinda guy i dont have a religion (i think religious people are very narrow minded no offense intended just my opinion)
But after watching it i was realy impressed i thought it was a very detailed film even for a non believer i still got this feeling of respect that was weard
But just wanted to know if you girls sa it and what you thought of it

I haven't seen it nor is it on the top of my list to see, however, I've got to admire Mel Gibson's unhollywood-like route to get this film made. What you see on the screen is pretty much what he wants you to see. Whether or not this made for a good movie is an entirely different story.

I'm not really big on movies or video, Mellissa. If someone else has invited me to the movies or has rented a vid, I might watch. But I don't usually say to folks "Let's watch a movie".

If someone rents The Passion and some other vids, I might watch it as part of a video party. If I happen across a showing of it on cable some night and I don't have anything pressing, I might watch it then as well. If someone urgently desires that I watch it, however, I'll politely (but firmly) express my urgent desire not to be proselytized. But I am pretty sure I'll watch it at some point; I just don't have a specific time set aside. :)

Yours,
Celia

I am not a religious person either. I am more of a theistic angostic, leaning slightly towards athiestic, but i found this to be an awesome movie.

I, oddly enough, have an odd thing for religious type movies. I think htey make for great stories, and every once in a while you get a good cinematic piece.

"the passion" made me turn my head a few times. But overall i think its a good film, well acted, well shot.

It served its purpose

so what u think? is it going to win the oscar?

dank je mellissa, your english is zeer goed. i am afraid my dutch is a lot worse! proselytized means to try and convert someone from one belief to another. hope that makes sense for you. I had to look it up myself.

have a good day, and since it is quite late where you are now: Slaap lekker. (see I know a little bit :) )

Hi,

Atheist cross-dressers, Oh My God!!!!

Just kidding.

I do consider myself a Christian these days. I'm not affiliated with any organized religions. I have checked out so many. I'm too particular! The deal breaker is when these churches get to the point where they start telling me about this or that belief that will condemn those of other religions to eternal hell or oblivion depending on the church. Sanctimonious comes to mind. From my perspective Bush falls in this group also. He scares me. Bush lovers don't worry. I'm not converting anyone. One of the hardest lessons of life for me to learn is that I am not infallible. Everyone's opinion has vallidity at some point in the life experience they have had.

I have not watched the movie yet. From what I have read, it is largely a product of Mel Gibson's religious beliefs. They of course are formed from his life experiences and indoctrinations. I would guess at some time I will see it.

I do tend to express strong beliefs these days. Those that read my comments, I hope don't see me as closed minded. If I am I would enjoy hearing from you. I'm still not too old to learn new tricks.

I love this forum and those here and Sharon and Shannon. I never have been involved in such a diverse group that can share and debate or discuss such deep and wide ranging topics and not be attacked. I believe
us being cross-dressers and our SOs have much bigger hearts than others I know. Somehow and someway all of us in our diversities have common traits of strong caring, love, openness, accepting differences, and even through terrible family problems, know and understand the importance of family. We all fall down now and then, but the girl friends here are always around to help us up again.

Hugs,
Kersten

about the movie its not Mel Gibsons point of vieuw its the original story as far i can tell (yes i had sunday school to hahaha)
But i think its a bit katholic so that may seem differant to non katholics couse they have some differant vieuws on thing in the bible
And i want to stress that i do NOT hate or disaprove of cristians or Muslims
But i had some bad experience with both of them and that kinda
shaped my opinion on them ( got some serious hate mail after posting on a forum)

kristen, in my case is more like agnostic. atheists can't prove their case any more than those that believe God exists. this being a free society people are allowed to believe whatever they want . . . Like you, I'd just wish some would remember that and leave others alone.

mellissa, your English is just fine. I'm glad you're here. I doubt very much Mel Gibson is going to get many (if any) academy awards. Look for Michael Moore to get them instead. (I could be wrong, but I really doubt it).

Mellisa,

Mel Gibson stated on a television interview that it was largely his interpretation of events. Interpretation is why there are a thousand different denominations that conflict with each other. Those that so strictly adhere to there own views and believe their's is the only view are mistaken. Even if we all were in attendance 2000 years ago, we each would have our individual interpretation.

For example scripture talks of nails through the hands. Some religions hold the Bible as infallible. Evidence suggests that the nails in the hands would rip out and historically Romans nailed through the wrists. This alone has stirred a lot of conflict. Many on each side believing they are absolutely right.

hugs,

Michal Moore is thinking of entering his 9/11 into the best picture catorgory from what I heard make it eligably. It would not be eligable if entered it the doc catagory but in my BELIEF I think he want more people to see it than to win anouther academy award.

I think michael moore WANTS to win another oscar so he can get one last crack at Bush with 15 million people watching. I think it'll go like this: "Our long national nightmare is OVER!"
