No wig

Post by SophieLawson »

What do you think, and what do you see when you look
in the mirror with your makeup on and everything but no wig?

At first it was always just still boymode with makeup on, but the last few weeks I have just really seen Sophie as soon as I have the makeup on. I took a pic the other day of me with makeup on and my normal boy hair and I just look still like Sophie even with the short hair.

I used to hate looking in the mirror when I had no wig on, but I don't mind at all now. Just wondered if everyone else sees boy or female mode when yuor not wearing a wig.

I keep my head shaved real short, almost bald. When I look in the mirror with makeup & no wig some days I see a bald chick... other days I see myself completely androgyneous. :)

I keep my head shaved real short, almost bald. When I look in the mirror dressed, without makeup & no wig I see a bald person that I like.

When I look in the mirror dressed, wearing a wig, without makeup, I see a person that is very pretty that I also like.

Occasionally I like to put some lipstick on, but nothing more than that.

I see a woman with short hair. I like it, but I love the way I look when I get the wig on!

Interesting!! What I see is "a work in progress." Virginia, making her physical presence felt. However you have made me think so I will accept the challenge and look more closely next time.
Thanks,
Virginia

Hi girls,

When I look in the mirror with makeup on, I see Elizabeth. It makes me smile every time. I rarely wear a wig, and have never wore a wig while out.

You know, come to think of it, I see Elizabeth pretty much always now. I mean, I usually have makeup on, morning till night, I get up in the morning, shower, shave, dress, and put my makeup on. So I don't really see me in boy mode, and even when I do, I no longer think of myself as being in boy mode or girl mode. I am in Elizabeth mode all the time now.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Hi Sophie,

Yes, I'm like you. I'm starting to see my femme self without the hair. :) However I've always imagined myself with long hair. I actually got rid of it after college. :( I'm so stupid. It was long enough that I could get it stuck in the car door. It was a little bit below my shoulders. That's when I got mistaken for a gal one day (no makeup or anything). It was awesome! :)

One day I'll grow it back, but at this point in my career, I'm not ready to. Plus I'm very picky about my stylist and the best one I had I left in NYC. :(

So, anyhow.. yes Sophie I've started seeing the same thing. :)

Well, since I still have a mustache, I sure don't want to see a girl. It's just me with makeup.

Hi Sophie--
When I very first started, I had to have the wig before I'd go to the full-length mirror. Then I started growing my hair out. Certain point, it started to be OK to look before I put the wig on. It was OK--Anita was already in the mirror, so to speak.

Now the hair's down to my shoulders, and I go out dressed with no wig.
(Ponytail in boy mode) But there's some days the hair looks too much like a guy, and I have to say, "Oh, well," and just go out anyway. Sometimes I'll throw the wig on at the last minute, but the wig feels too artificial now--no gray in it at all, and my real hair is streaked.

If I'm doing a show, then I don't care how artificial the wig is--it's all part of the act.
