Barbara, that's great!! I was just thinking the same thing!!Barbara wrote:Here's my Halloween dilemma -- Just about the only costume I could wear to make sure none of my friends recognize me would be a man's suit & tie -- it's the one outfit no one's seen me in for at least 10 years!
Live it. Love it. OWN IT.

You would think I would go as a cheerleader. But this year I got this outfit. It fits quite nicely and it oh so fun! Ballerina Princess! Complete with a tiara. I'm still wondering if glitter is going too far.

Adriana Lima and I were born with each other's bodies. I hope someday this mistake can be reversed.

Hi all,
Missy,
Thanks for being helpful but it's a moot point, now. I found a pair of red ankle strap sandals at the Aldo warehouse for $20! I have to say, the clerk at the local Payless shoe store I went to on Friday was incredibly friendly and helpful, though. When she couldn't find anything that suited me in red, she began going over the possibility of dying this or that pair of shoes. In the end, she directed me to their other stores downtown and even pointed out some of their competitors' stores that might carry what I was looking for. It was a good experience (as have been almost all my shoe shopping experiences).

Right now, the dilemma I'm facing concerning Halloween isn't so much the costume I'll wear for breakfast at the restaurant, as it is what I'll be doing afterwards. I'm supposed to go to a colleague's Hallloween party later in the afternoon, where the expectation is that at least some of us will be dressing up. I'm just not sure I want to go as "The Woman In Red" (or in any other female form); if I did, it would sort of become an official "coming-out" party for me... and I just hate being in the spotlight. Although pretty much all my colleagues know about "Christina," they've never seen anything other than photos of my female self. For me, it boils down to this: if, out of the 15 or so people that are expected to attend, it looks as though I might be one of the only ones there to have dressed up for the occasion, I won't be going. So far, I haven't got word on how many people plan to go there dressed (they usually focus on the good food and booze and the traditional horror film viewing). A couple of my colleagues are aware of my dilemma and yet they encourage me to go anyway (one has even offered to come around early Saturday afternoon so she can help me out with some of the details), but this all stands to make me a nervous wreck. Anyway, I'll see this week which way the wind's blowing. I'll keep you posted.
Love,
CJ

I need some help with my "costume" as I posted the image I am planning on wearing but I could some help refining it some. Any suggestions? My mom I where talking about her going as my daughter and I as the her mother. (my mom only being 4'10") she was looking at putting together a little girl costume she told me and the "costume" I have would make older.
Is that good or bad?

Hi all,
Jessie,
I just looked again at your picture in the gallery, and I think you will look good as a young mother (in your 20's or early 30's). Your mother may be able to help you accessorize. Depending on what she can come up with as your little daughter, possibly some matching accessories for both of you, so little daughter could be "just like Mommy".
Please keep us posted.
CJ,
Those are great shoes! I wish my feet looked that good. Your toenails look excellent, with the matching red polish. And to top it all off, those red fishnets! I know we all will love to see pictures of you as "the woman in red".
I asked the people in charge of the group planning to hand out treats at church and they weren't sure.if they were or not. A couple of them (older GGs) were talking about remembering back when they wanted costumes, they made do with old clothes, etc.
Two years ago, when I still had my beard, I bought a black straight witch wig for $2, used a red bandana as a headband and went as a joke to our pastor's house as a male hippy (he fell on the ground laughing).
If I find out next week the Sunday night handout at church will happen, I can ask if we should be in costume, then rember out loud about my last male hippy appearance, and then mention that I still have the wig, but I don't have the beard anymore, but I could try to think of something.
I have a long sleeved black Bohemian top with white embroidery, and 2 long broomstick skirts to choose from, so I can be Moonbeam, a female hippy, with long raven tresses.
This afternoon I bought a huge plastic jar containing 60 small individual bags of mini pretzels (let the kids get their sugar rush from elsewhere) , and if the church group does hand out goodies, I will add them to their treat pool.
If they don't, I can turn on the porch light and have Moonbeam (or since it would be at home and if I felt like doing more prep time maybe Brini Maxwell or Maid Jadeanne) give them to trick or treaters.

All of your girls's costumes sound so fun.
Jadenne good luck at the church. Maid's outfit answering the door, how fun!!
Lorna I will be waiting to see your hooters!!!!
Bridget, glitter is not overdoing it, just make sure you wear clean undies!!
Beauty, You are so hot, like the outfit and your face is so smooooooth. You remind me of my exwife, that's a good thing she is still very attractive.
And your legs in avatar are so feminine. What is your secret?
Jessie, that's a hoot that you will be your Mom's mom. Hope you both enjoy the evening. And you get your costume together.
Cj, I wish you many winks on saturday, hope you can get all the events in that you are aiming for. Good luck on the shoes.
I will be Rosanne Rosanna Dana, I have the business suit and the black ratted hair, the most obnoxious dark red lip stick. Been practicing my imatation, she was so fun, I will enjoy this to the max. just going bar hoping.
No one has ever come to my apartment in the 5 years I have lived here. This complex doesnt't have a lot of kids even though a Middle school is right next door. I hope you all have as much fun as it sounds you will.
What are you trying to do make me sick, ........... OR WHAT???? Kristen

Hi all,
Missy,
The 10 denier FF nylons I bought at a thrift store in the Gay Village. They were my size (11½), still in their original package, and only cost $1.They had about twenty or thirty pairs of them. I bought six.
Jadeanne,
Thanks for the compliment.
Still, about the shoes, I sort of wish the insoles were red as well, instead of white. Oh well, I guess I just can't have it all, can I?
Donna,
You're right. In the photo I'm not wearing any pantyhose underneath the fishnets. I seldom wear fishnets but that's certainly a good idea, the nude pantyhose. I'll give it a whirl. Thanks.
Love,
CJ

Hi all,
The church adult group will not be handing out goodies Sunday night, so I'm going to be handing out the pretzel packs at home. I am going with my wife's suggestion and it will NOT be the maid answering the door.
She is fine with either Moonbeam the hippy chick or Brini Maxwell. Which will it be? Stay tuned.
