What should I keep in my Wardrobe...

Post by Kerri »

||oo||

Hiya!

Due to restrictions on storage space for drawers and hanging stuff I have to be a minimalist with regard to Femme Gear.

But due to being a mere male trying to appear female I dont really know what I should have. Can anybody suggest what the contents of my lingerie drawer, wardrobe and make-up bag should be? I'm sure I am missing something............?

I cant wait!!!

Kerri,

Since you asked, I will try to imagine myself in your situation and offer my opinions.

First, take an inventory of what you have already, and make a list of your preferences and priorities.

The operative word where space is at a premium is VERASTILITY.

Plan on having at least enough panties to be able to wear a clean pair each day between laundry days, at a bare minumum  . Bras can usually be worn more than once between washings. Don't forget to save storage room for your breast forms.

Camisoles and half slips can be more versatile than full slips, especially if you prefer varied height hemlines. The camisoles can also be used in layering.

Hosiery is a personal preference. I love gartered stockings. They take up less storage room than pantyhose. I usually get a pack of 3 pairs so if one leg runs, it's not a total disaster - save the good one, open up a new pair, and I already have a replacement ready when one of them goes bad. This principle can also apply to thigh high and knee high stockings.

Foundation garments are another personal preference. My preference is open bottom girdles. I can wear panties under them so they can go several wearings between washings. They hold my stockings up and my stomach in.

Another, more versatile choice is waist cinchers - at least one with removable garters if you are so inclined. Combine 2 waist cinchers, one low, one high, add a regular bra, and you can have the shaping effect of an all in one body briefer.

For tops, skirts, dresses, and accessories think versatility and harmonizing pieces. Two piece dresses can also be used as separates to mix and match with other items.

Accessories such as jewelry (earrings, necklaces, bracelets, pins), scarfs, and purses can provide variety.

If you are going to have only a few pairs of women's shoes, choose the styles and colors carefully so they will go well with everything else.

I personally don't wear makeup very often, so I will not make any suggestions on that.

Whew, I really turned that into an essay question!

I hope you find some of my ramblings useful.

Wow, Jadeanne sounds like you have done this before    .
As for the outer wear, a black and a white skirt of mid-length and shoes, don't get anything over 3" heels unless you never plan to go out. Don't see many GG's roaming the malls, stores and streets in 6" platform heels! As for tops depending on "your build" a lot of tops will go with black or white and as Jadeanne said, scarfs, can add a lot of variety and take up little space, neutral sweaters for those chilly Scottish winters are nice too.
Turtle neck if you need it (some of us have Adam's Apple problem.) As for "unmentionables" I think she covered that great. Make-up, that depends on your complexion. If you can get by with less make-up to "hide any flaws" the better off you are. Remember, drink lots of water and moisterize A LOT - Take care of your skin.. pamper it and it will return great dividends. if you need make-up get professional assistence in choosing the correct shade and you can use your lipstick for rouge if you want. Eye shadow, mascara, liner, all with professional guidance to match your hair color, skin shade and eye color. In lieu of face to face professional counselling, the internet has all kinds of help, just type in the name of some cosmetic company, go to their website and all kinds of help is there.
Good luck and "good hunting!
Love,
Virginia

Dear Jadeanne and Virginia,

Thats a great response, i really appreciate your taking the time to respond.
Youve given me some ideas to develop my compact wardrobe.

Most of my gear has been stored in the loft in the past, but now that I am getting older this is not a practical option.

I have a narrow 20" wardrobe, with three shelves and one drawer available. I am negotiating with my SO for more drawer space.

I generally favour seperate tops and bottoms as opposed to dresses. Although I like dresses my upper measurements are not in proportion to my lower measurements in a feminine sense.

many thanks

The multi hangers are a good idea - I use some for my male clothes. They came from retail stores, bought by my wife.

Several other things that I have done was use a full slip as a nightgown, use a short sleeveless satin nightgown as a full slip under a short dress, and since I dress only at home, worn a long satin nightgown as a formal dress.
