Earings

Tried a trick I found on the web. I was dressed in my maids outfit this morning when my wife came home from work (midnight shift for 3 months).

She asked me to heat up some chicken strips (for breakfast?), while she went upstairs to wash her hair. Instead I made her an omelet.

While she was washing her hair, I took and put a single drop of CA glue (super glue, medium density (thin will run and thick will take to long to adhere)) on the back of a pair of broken fake pearl earings (for pierced ears), an applied them to my lobes.

When next she saw me, she was a little speachless. She thought I had gone and had my ears pierced.

I had no problem with them staying on while I cleaned and cooked. And they peeled right off without taking the skin with them.

I love that idea. I will try it first chance I get. I want to get my ears periced but wife won't let me. boo hoo.

That is a funny story, but I would like to hear that part about her reaction and when you finally told her, and if she was angry, or now you feel like she may not be all that upset if you peirced your ears?

She might have gotten upset if I had had them pierced without talking it over first. I didn't give her time to get angry, however, and told her what I had done right after she asked.

I think with the TGEA Formal and all that is surrounding it, I won't be discussing piercings. And now that she knows the glue works, I don't think she'd go along with it just now. But, as with the Formal, she may surprise me.

I just found the neatest source for non-pierced earrings. I've always tried really hard to find clip earrings that look like pierced styles. I've lucked into some nice ones from WalMart and a couple of other places, but as I get bills caught up, and have started saving (a little) money, I'm looking for nicer things. I found this site:

The prices range from cheap to not-so-cheap, and the products appear to be of decent to high-quality. They offer all different styles, from stud to hoops to chandelier/dangly types. I've bookmarked this one for future reference.

I like the cyanoacrylate idea. I have to try it sometime. I tried a different approach.

I wanted some dangly earrings but they are impossible to find in clip-on style. So I bought a plain set of clip-on's and drilled a small hole in each. Got some hobby jewelry gold wire and put one end through the hole, and made a small loop on the inside to hold it in place. Then I put a loop on the outside end and now I can hook almost any dangly for pierced ears through the outside loop hole.

Mrs. Missy says they look fine. And there are a million of them to choose from, (and usually on sale)!
