First session of laser
I had my first session of laser for my beard this morning. I did hurt a little, but we are expecting good results as I'm on testosterone blockers 8and have been for four months)

Hi Girls:
See my posting "Spectralight ......" in this category for my IPL results. Yes it is long, but if you flip through you can find the photos to see the results. I look like a 10 year old now after 4 intense treatments. Yes IPL hurts at first as it really goes after a great deal of hair at once. Unlike the LASER with a dedicated beam, IPL uses the light inside of the LASER so you get a larger 1" x 2.5" area of treatment surface per firing. Phew! I looked like I was an advertisement for the "Red Lobster" Resturant chain. But the redness went away within 3 hours. See my posts.
Hugs
Danielle Marie

Hi Kristen,
Welcome to the laser hair removal club.
I would suggest that you not take the testosterone blockers quite yet. It slows down the hair growth. Trust me, it's going to take/seem long enough.
I'm only telling you about the T-blockers from my experience. I did take testosterone blocker after about my 6th month and when I stopped hair grew back that was growing a lot slower. It was super fine, but still dark enough to get lasered. So I'd recommend, if you can, to wait a little while longer to start them.
For pain, are you using any topical cream?
Thank you SO MUCH for posting here. In my thread I go through the highs and lows of the whole thing. As the months go on you'll be able to relate to what I went through. I wish I'd had someone who had posted what they went through and that's why I appreciate so much you posting here. Now they'll have two for laser and one for Danielle's treatmen.
Regardless soon you won't be shaving anymore.
I can't even find the chord to my electric shaver. That's how long it's been now.
I wish you the absolute best!!!

Laser hair removal
Thanks Beauty. I've been on t-blockers since July. The only cream I used after treatment (other than what the esthetician put on) was little Sween Cream that evening. November, December and January are a time of transition for me. In addition to the laser, I've started an extensive dental program (full mouth reconstruction) that will give me a "pageant quality" smile. It was needed health wise but we are going to be able to help on my gender journey as well and next week I'm getting a corneal transplant on my right eye.
