No responses to Email letters

Post by Danielle La Belle »

I have several people that I email on a regular basis. I always send a nice layout with new photo many times and a moderately long letter less than 50 lines most of the time.

Many answer a week later, with 5 lines or so. It is interesting to me that they want me to write, but they do not seem to have the time to recprocate and keep the relationship going.

Of course we all have jobs and family, but it just appears to me that some are more self-centered than others about this. My family does the same thing. They always complained that I lived away from their home and that I did not write. Now I bombard them with mail and they do not write or very little. It is like pulling teeth without the novacaine.

Hugs

My Friend Still I Hope, Danielle,

I appologize Danielle! Your not second best. I, a person that never knew any friends, have now been blessed with so many friends that I physically cannot keep up with everyone. It hurts me that I can't write each day to everyone whom, I love. I hope you and many other friends know that no one is forgotten. All of you are a part of me, like we are a real family. At least the most real I have experienced. Please forgive me!

Love,
Kersten

Kersten:

Just a quick blurp here. You are an exception to what I wrote about. I never had you or anyone on the forum in mind. Mostly, it is family and a few friends over the years that I was complaining about.

Your situation is rather special and understandable as I told you before, I understand you and accept whenever you write or do not write. Others that I have known, do not have the same situation, which makes me wonder about their reasoning.

Hugs

Although I am not one of the ones you are referring to, That describes me. For me once a week is more than adequate to keep a relation ship going. I am also a person of few words. Usually saying just enough to convey my thoughts.

I guess that is just another of the attributes that is associated with a women that I don't have? I am not the chatter box some of them are.

Interesting Darlene,

I'm the opposite. I feel if I write, I need to have something really important to write about. And I write long as I do here. I haven't learned to be more focused. Usually anyone I talk to on a serious subject, which I do take myself too seriously, takes one to two hours for me to say what I feel. That really taxes me. I am also that way on the job, having to see to the very last detail. Another reason why I beat issues to death. I can be such a bore, but it does not stop me.

Nothing wrong with being a perfectionist Kersten. As long as the perfection is something that you believe is needed in that particular circumstance and that time permits.

Mainly, instead of indicating that you might be boring on a particular topic, let others decide for themselves. When given a compliment, just say thank you. No need to exclam how old the item you are wearing is. Just say, "Thank you"! An Astronaut taught me that in 1990 at the Kennedy Space Center Engineering Laboratory.

I am that I am! For this I have been told. To be otherwise would betray my true self. That self that I regale in each day, for the wonderful things that I can do for another in my time.
