Hi all,
Elinor's delightful poem http://crossdressers-forum.com/forums/v ... php?t=3525
inspired me to bring this thread back up to the top.
It was also one of the factors that inspired me to order my third petticoat - this one 17 inch pink chiffon, to compliment my other 2 longer ones (white chiffon 22 inch, black net 26 inch). It should work better with some outfits where the 22 inch white one was just a bit too much, plus provide some variety with a different color.
What are your petticoat outfits and dreams?

Hi Jadeanne,
I share your love of petticoats. My dream is to have a petticoated dress not unlike those worn in the film King and I.
My latest purchase was received last month. Postage takes a while cos they are made in USA then shipped to UK in bulk.
In this URL I have the one on the left.
http://www.petticoatdreams.co.uk/4709/index.html
I am moving away from the girl-about-town form of crossdressing to a more self satisfying kinky style. For one thing it takes up less room, and for another I can indulge my love of petticoats.
Do you have a good source for wide fitting 4" / 5" heel pumps?
If you know of a reliable outlet please post their URL.

Hi all,
Kerri,
I visited the webpage you linked to - is your petticoat on the top row? I wouldn't mind having any of them on that page
.
Donna,
Congratulations on getting your petticoat. Would you mind telling us what color(s) and where you got it?
How many more members have petticoats? Please tell us about them.

White, with three layers. Bought at Fashion Fantisies in Manassas VA. I've tried to go by there before, but they had odd hours and I never got around to it.
http://www.fashionfantasylingerie.com/
Went in and looked around for the petticoats. They have them hanging high, I asked the clerk to se one. She got it down and I asked the size. She said it was one size. So I held it to my waist and asked if she thought it would fit. The thought it might (sure wouldn't have 50 lbs ago). I then told her about the maids outfit my wife made and that she would do the petticoat. Ayear ago I wouldn't have been able to have that kind of conversation.

Petticoats are wonderfull and very feminine .
Yes I own two petticoats and would love to own more.
I would love to wear a 50s pink skirt with a petticoat.
In fact I WILL OWN a pink 50s full poodel skirt with a petticoat to show it off properly.
I'll buy one for my feminine side soon she deserves them and she simply must be obeyd.

Petticoats
I love fluffy petticoats. As a matter of fact, I'm wearing one now. Unlike some others, who have responded to your question, I don't find them at all difficult to get around in.
Since they make my skirt stand out, they will, sometimes, brush against things, or get caught on pointy objects. The thing to do is to do what the GGs do. When you pass throughj a narrow passage, or pass by rough objects, simply gather up up your skirts with a free hand, and either lift it slightly, or pull it aside. You may show a little lace in the process, but that's part of the fun.
Which of us minds showing a little lace, from time to time? (whether on a fouffant petticoat, a really lovely slip, or possibly even on a cute little pair of panties. Personally, I like doing the same things I like to see GGs do.

Hi all,
I'm really glad to read all the delightful posts.
I received my 3rd petticoat a while ago, and due to availability, it's still pink, but 19 inch instead of 17 inch hem, but I still love it! At the same time I got a pair of pettipants that have multicolored pastel tiers of lace.
I only dress around the house, and sometimes like to position my petticoat/slip to show just a little lace with certain movements such as sitting.

Jadeanne. I should have spotted this thread ages ago. Like yourself I am a child of the fifties and it was the sight of petticoats back then that made me realize that I wanted to wear female clothes. I was never able to get any petticoats so I built up a collection of slips instead. Over the years I always dreamed of wearing petticoats and when I joined the WWW. my first search was Petticoats. That introduced me to Pettipond and I have not looked back since.
Within a month I purchased my first petticoat and became a Pond bunny(82). I now have eleven petticoats. Mine are all around 30ins long and include 1 Sams and 2 Malco Modes. I love the soft chiffon type but also have 4 net ones, 2 of which are bridal down to the floor length. I have 7 or 8 skirts under which I can wear them. On two of the skirts I have removed the inner lining to add to the effect. I also have 4 more petticoats on order. Two I designed myself. They are single layer chiffon with lace hem and rows of ribbon and are just slightly fuller than a slip. The other two are reproduction Victorian. I have also ordered the skirt and blouse to go with them. I may stop at that as petticoats are expensive but I am fulfilling a lifelong dream. Jane.

Jane,
Thank you for reviving this thread.
Wow! 15 petticoats. You're sure doing great playing catchup after a late start!
Since the last time I posted I now have 2 more petticoats (bringing my collection to 5), a 22 inch Malco Modes style 380 in red and from a thrift store, a floor length net one that my wife says she can mend (my only used one, for $5).
I hope some of the other newer members will discover this thread and post about the petticoats they have and their petticoat memories and dreams.

I only own two petticoats one came with my Maid's uniform.
I wish 50 styles would come back its very feminine and its also fun to wear its so girlie and shows of ones skirts to full affect a girl needs to learn how to move around between the furniture
Petticoat Pond is where to find links to PETTICOATS and see photos of GGs and Crossdressers in fluffy feminine glory.
You will find me there too.

Hi, Jadeanne,
I'm glad you asked.I'm also interested in how many others love petticoats. It seems today that most CD's go for the look of what's in style now, (and I'm not criticising them-You'd look mighty noticeable at the mall in a dress with a square dance- style full skirt.)
But I simply adore full, fluffy, rustly petticoats, and always have. I believe it stemmed from when I was very young. My two older sisters thought I was the cutest thing ever, and , at first, dressed me in their dolls clothes (they had a couple of those very large dolls), and later, in their old dresses. I know this because I have vague memories of it and because my mother told me of it later. I was,(and still am, very thin)and had (according to mum), the most beautiful blue eyes Mothers are so doting at times.I was able to fit into girl things easily and forunately, still do. She used to say that I'd have made the prettiest girl.
Anyhow, back to the point. The dolls in those days used to be dressed invariably in full - skirted satin dresses with puffy sleeves. And my sisters also had petticoats, (I remember, a couple had a petticoat sewn in under the first layer of skirt), so I think that "imprinted" me with a love of wearing petticaots.
I still love the way they swish around my legs as I walk, or turn. You're always aware you're wearing them, because of their impracticability- you have to remember to lift them up at the back before you sit, and then sit daintily down. The soft caress of them on your legs is always there, and noticeable. You feel so feminine and helpless in petticoats - a point that turns me on. You can't run, or do any rough"boy things" with them on.You have to act ladylike and gentle while in them.I still love the way I have to be careful while wearing pettis, not to turn around and knock things off tables, and how I have to hold both arms tightly down my sides to make them narrow enough to go through doorways.
Don't you love the way, when you're in a satin dress with lots of pettis, your arms naturally fall into the folds of your dress unless you hold them out? I find I am continually fondling the frilly hem and fabric of my dress when petticoated. You never forget you're in them
At present I have a 3 layer and a 2 layer "Sam's"organdy square dance petticoat. I bought them on eBay. They are not as scratchy as the nylon mesh types, but they cost - In Australia I ended up paying $117 for each, because of the exchange rate and shipping . I have a "Malco Modes" prairie- length 2- layer nylon mesh one and several bridal pettis, which I wear with my "Southern Belle" style wedding dress.
It's good to see others in pettis. I hope the fashions return to the petticoat. It's been far too long.

always loved crinolines
Can't believe I missed this thread, but I'm the ultimate nut for petticoats in this group, I bet!!!!
I now have seven or eight of my own and have bought another 4 or five for my wife when we take square dance lessons this fall. Like all of you, I love the 50's fashion and never left the Grease era. Horray that the designers are doing longer fuller skirts this year and some show them with at least a little tulle peeking out.
Some time I'll learn to add a pic to a post. But for now, pouf on girls.
