How to choose breastforms?

Post by Helen (SO) »

Hiya,

I'm planning to get my boyfriend some breastforms for his birthday. From comments he's made he'll be over the moon but I want to make sure I get it right so...

I can probably work out sizes from his height / weight and the size labels on his lingerie, but does anyone have any advice on how to pick shapes, makes and materials? I could guess but if people out there have suggestions that'd help. Also if anyone knows of any particularly good suppliers (supplying to the UK) then that'd help too.

Thanks

H

PS Here's hoping he doesn't read this!!

Good question Helen(SO),
We've tried some makeshift (homemade) bra stuffers but it would be nice to have something more realistic (Maria would be very happy).
Cost seems prohibitive for those that look (and feel?) real.

Haven't bought any myself, but heard good things about http://www.thebreastformstore.co.uk/ in the UK and in the US their url is http://www.thebreastformstore.com/

I hear tear drop (oval) shapes are the best. Hears a link recommending them http://www.abgender.com/breast-forms.htm And recommending the Amoena attachable Breast Forms These are quite expensive though.

Hi Helen !

The shape of the breastforms depends on your boyfriends taste but I can tell you what I like and why :) I bought my Transform Super Perk triangle shape breastforms from british online shop called Doreenfashions.com.
They have excellent size charts and good photos of their products. The size depends on his height and weight naturally but if he is about average size (175-185 cm, 70-80 kilos) , B- or C-cup would look most natural. If he is larger, his forms should be larger too ( D-cup). I wouldn´t recommend extremely large forms, because they aren´t very comfortable to wear and bigger bras cost more. The other type is teardrop shape forms but personally I want my bra to fully cover the form, so triangle shape is my favourite. The best bra for silicone forms is a "classic bra" without underwires. There is a possibility that an underwire damages the form but I don´t think that is a problem if you buy underwire bras one cup size larger than non-underwire bras.
I´ve also bought one set of forms from Transformation.co.uk but
was very disappointed :( They cost a fortune but the forms are nothing special. There are no real images on their pages, just manipulated images of real breasts. But, these triangle forms are excellent and not
very expensive. I really love them :)
Best wishes,

Joanna

Hi Helen:

I have bought from both of these companies and have been satisfied. Not too pricey, especially the ones from elitemart. The ones from curves.com are slightly larger but more costly. Of course this is a very personal choice and someone else may not like the same kind as I do.

Good luck in your search!

Choosing

Hi,

I have the Transform Triangles and absolutely love them. I have a 42 inch chest and went with a B cup and find that is a good size. Hope this helps.

Patty :)

There are so many differences in taste that it is impossible to know what anyone else would find most appealing. My forms are from http://www.fredericks.com and are made by a German company. They are teardrop in shape, but not an exaggerated teardrop. They easily fit within a bra. I personally like underwire bras. Most of Victoria’s Secret full coverage bras are underwire bras. They work well with breast forms. As to size, the breast form adds to whatever size a person already has. If they already have any muscle or fat tissue in the breast area, then an A-size breast form might easily appear to be somewhere between a B-size and a C-size. That is a complication genetic woman do not face!
Take care,

Getting there!

Post by Helen (SO) »

Well, not much news as yet I'm afraid.

Following all your replies I was very keen to get purchasing but every time I went anywhere near my computer (and especially near the phoneline to connect to the internet) my boyfriend appeared, as if by magic, and wanted to know what I was up to!

He's very, very sweet and I love him to bits - but how to get rid of him for half an hour??

Happily (finally!!!) he's now gone off to Scotland to climb a mountain (it takes all sorts!) so I've finally been able to place my order.

After your comments and an e-mail conversation with someone from the Breast Form Store I finally opted for Transform Classics in a size 5. I don't know whether they're what he would have chosen but hey, I think I'm going to be pretty popular anyway!!!

I will of course keep you posted!

Neat! :)

Hi Helen. I totally missed this thread. :( It's almost been a month. So did he like them? [-o<

I purchased both pair from breastformstore.com the owner is totally a saint. He's a great businessman, a very kind soul, his store is super duper customer friendly, and the quality of his products is A+! :)

It's so cool to read about another SO accepting her special guy as a CD'r and purchasing him something to help him. :) =D> :)

Well, tonight's the night so I'll be able to let you know soon!

(we didn't celebrate my boyfriend's actual birthday - because of circumstances beyond our control - so I've invented another birthday for him and although his birthday was actually ages ago today's the first day that's really been a possibility which is why it's taken so long since I first asked the question).

Right, time to start preparing the party!

Fingers crossed!

Thanks, Roxie. I have been pricing forms and will check the site you mentioned. And I agree with you about decent forms, which I intend to purchase after paying off the holiday bills (groan). But in the meantime.....I needed something for my few trips out.....and bird seed was not an option:)
Thanks

Well you asked how it went...I think maybe it'd be best if I let J answer that one............

J:
"They're very exciting - I have to admit I did have my suspicions, but thought maybe I was being a bit hopeful that Helen would have bought me a pair of breasts!

She made me bath and shave, then dress and wait in the lounge, where she had laid out loads of candles and the presents (Including a pair of comedy nipples - I'm sorry, they're just a bit too funny!), so we had a romantic meal dressed up whilst enjoying the weight and feel of the forms - I'm amazed at how heavy they are, and realistic the feel through clothes.

Anyway, the general answer from me is they're fantastic - I'm very happy with them, and I hope I've managed to keep the post nice and clean! Now I can't wait to try on all my dresses with my new breasts!
