Just found site
I just found this site yesterday, and must say it is loaded with information, coming from all points of view, which I find very helpful. I like how the site is broken down by category.
I have been married for about 2 1/2 years and told my wife about being a CrossDresser one month ago to the day. She was very calm and excepting the day I told her (shock?), but the next day was rather "freaked out" and would not even talk to me, which has never happened before.
Since then she has calmed down and is working at understanding and accepting this side of me, though we have a ways to go. She does understand that this is not going away, that it is part of me. She does not have any wish to see me dressed at this point (which I am not ready for either), but did paint my toenails the other night and gave me advice on doing my fingernails.
I figure my gender is about 60% male to 40% female, with a little flex from day to day. I am a very kind and gentle person, hardly ever get angry and have great patience, all of which I attribute to my female side. I can fix or build just about anything, love power tools.
I found my self earlier this night punching a hole in a cement wall to run a dryer vent, and stopping to look and my pink nails, saying to my self "I better be careful, I might chip a nail"
I am trying to find balance in my two selfs, something I have fought all my life, but somehow sharing with my wife (the first person I ever told) is helping me find my center.

Hi Jenney from the Great Plains,
Welcome to the forum!
I hope you continue to find the site enjoyable and informative.
Bravo for having told your wife!
It's one of the hardest things to do, but also one of the most necessary ones. A relationship built on secrets--even if we think we have good reasons to keep some of those secrets--is a fragile edifice. May both you and your wife continue to grow together (and, please, don't hesitate to invite her here as well... the site is very SO-friendly).
I look forward to hearing more from you.
Love,
CJ

Will tell wife
I am going to tell my wife about this site! She has been getting most of her crossdressing info from a yahoo mail group, which is fine, but is pretty one sided on the SO side, it is good to try to understand all sides of the issue.

I'm a Jack (Jill) of all trades too, and it is definitely hard on the nails. My wife asked me if I wanted a manicure at the salon while she had one, but I wouldn't do it because I am so rough on my nails sometimes, and knew I had a few projects to work on first. Besides, I had them in pink already

HI Jenny,
You you will find a plethera of knowledge here and congratulations telling your wife. As my sister Donna, yes nails can get damaged easily. On the other side, I do some home remodeling and sometimes I dress and wear glue on nails and it is amazing how my perspective changes and I am a lot more careful where I place my hands and actually the jobs seem to go better.
