From an article about the newest toys hitting the market...
"1. Bleeding Edge Goth Dolls If Barbie isn't your daughter's cup of tea, she might appreciate Serpentina, who has a pierced lower lip, pet cobras named Ted and John Wayne, and a strong dislike for the smell of burning hair.
Serpentina is part of the Bleeding Edge collection of 12-inch Glam Goth Dolls, all dressed like trashy vampires, retailing for $24 each. Her friend Storm O. Misery offers this tip on meditation: "I sit in the middle of an electrical storm and channel my dead pets."
What do you think?

Hi Terri,
lol Wow
I guess the first thing that pops into my mind is mom's who are goth that now have the ability to buy a doll for their child that looks like them?
I wonder, even if the mom wasn't goth, if a mom would let her daughter have one of those. I would if she selected it herself.
I also wonder where stores will put them? I would think lots more parents would complain and force stores to move them to another location (away from Barbie, I mean).
Thanks Terri. That is very interesting. I think they should be where the other dolls are and I would get one for someone if their parents approved it and they selected it.

Wow! Cool!
Hi all,
Terri, I actually like these! I'll try to find one or two. The dolls are described as "sexy and sinister"... in my dreams, something I've always wanted to be.
Two of them in particular I think would be a great addition to my own "figurine" collection: Ophelia Pain and Trinity Tortura.
So far, my collection of figurines ("action" or otherwise) includes The Movie Maniacs Series "Creature from The Thing," Lara Croft, "The Hanged Man" from Clive Barker's Tortured Souls series, The Female Twin Cenobytes from Clive Barker's Hellraiser, the Final Fantasy Phantom and Trooper. These all stand next to my porcelain "18th-century lady in flowing robes" statue, assortment of jade Buddhas, and small clique of Winnie the Pooh and Nintendo64 figurines. Yeah... go "figure," eh?
Thanks for the info, Terri.
Love,
CJ
