Bra or bust

Hi girls,

I seem to have got fussier bust/bra size, when I dress these days. I have always had a thing about colour co-ordination (bra and panties), but now I even try to co-ordinate bust size with what I'm wearing.

Without the risk of sounding crude, I used to put on a bra (38b), fill out a necessary and choose my outfit be it dress, blouse or jumper etc......... and away I'd go.

Now when time can be of the essence, I waste it trying to determine/decide the bust size I want, according to what I'm wearing. Life used to be so simple, until I got my breast forms.

Don't get me wrong, I love my forms but in figure hugging jumpers I look and feel top heavy. 9 times out of 10 I'll wear forms (38C) with a dress. Jumpers/blouses normally back to the old stuffed 38B. Something else that I had not even considered doing until recently and that is that I brought a few (38A) size bras, which I more or less fill naturally (now love the natural feel) and wear them with thin cardigans or t-shirts.

My question being, is this normal (define normal I here you ask). Do any of you girls, change your bust size to suit your mood/clothing or do you stay with one regular bra size?

I think I'm starting to head in the opposite direction from you.

When I (re)started CDing going on to 3 years ago, my loving, supporting wife (who lets me borrow almost anything I want from her) gave me some of her older things that she didn't wear anymore, including some bras in a smaller size than her current one, and some tops/dresses that were a little too small for her. These mostly smaller size things were the starting point of my wardrobe.

I made a couple of sets of breast forms from uncooked rice in nylons, varying among 40/42/44 bras, some with strap extenders, with cup sizes varying from B to D. I would choose a top or dress, then coordinate the bra/cup/form size to properly fit. As I bought my own bras, I went with 44 c/d cup, and as I eventually later started buying my own tops, dresses, etc, I went for sizes that fit the new bras I was buying.

My loving wife has allowed me buy silicone forms (arrived on Monday), now I'm a 44 C and plan on wearing them most of the time when I dress femme. If a top or dress is too small to fit and it's not really special, it's probably going to be donated to a rummage sale or thrift store. That will free up some storage space for newer things.

A smaller dress or top will have to be really special for me to go back to rice after graduating to that great look and feel that comes with silicone forms.

Hi Charlotte Anne,

     I agree with you very much on two of your points (one more implicit than the other), namely, that bust size is much more crucial in some kinds of clothing than in other kinds, and that looking too top-heavy can be a problem for “girls like us.” I own silicone breast forms of cup-sizes “C,” “B,” and “A.” Increasingly, I have been wearing the “A” forms, which fit nicely in a “B” bra. (The forms add to whatever bulk you already have in the breast area.) In seeing photos of myself that others have taken, I have become more and more convinced that the smaller forms give me a more feminine appearance, also that I look far from being small chested, even with the smallest forms. I think you are quite right that with figure-hugging outfits, especially, we need to be more concerned with proportions (i.e., bust-waist-hips) than with any particular measurement.

I think Jamie is right in the proportion discussion. Unless we want to draw undue attention to ourselves, proportion is very important in our presentation in public. The male eye as we all know goes to the chest in most cases and if one is more than adequately endowed we obtain possibly some unwanted attention. The other problem with not having the proper presentation is the affect it can have on our wardrobe. We want the front of the blouse to lay naturally, not streach the buttons. For sweaters or other pullovers a natural look is best.

I can agree with the need to vary bust size initially. I did this at first until I decided what felt right on me. Then I bought my forms (36 C). I would never consider changing them. Some clothes fit better than others, but that's part of life.

Hi all,

This evening I went through trying on all of my bra collection with my new forms, and my wife let me try a couple of hers.

Both of her bras that I tried fit, so all of hers should. I went through my entire collection and only 2 didn't fit the forms. This took a while, with 2 body briefers, 3 bustiers, 4 long lines, 12 others. 2 didn't make the grade, both old ones that my wife had passed on to me.

My wife and I are about the same bra size now, so I'm kind of her safety net if she wants to try a new style and doesn't really like it after several wearings, it will probably find a home in my bra drawer.

I have started buying the seamless bras as they look much more natural. I have noticed that the bras with lacy trim and stiching across the cups, can look sexy through a blouse, they tend to draw attention, from both GG's and men. Side point, GG's are so adept at the "undetectable glance" that you have to be very astute to catch it. As one of our sisters posted a while back, the GG's take a mental picture of what they see and diseminate it later. If I am out and it is not to obvious, I wear sun glasses and to watch GG's and their "undetectable glance" it is really neat to watch them evaluate other GG's in the blink of an eye!
I do have some nice bras with frilly lace and stitching, but I wear them under a heavy sweater so it does not show.

I tend to wear the smooth bras also, not one to like lots of lines on the bust in a blouse. The half cup bras on non-plunge blouses on so many women looks tacky.

I have contemplated going from a 38B to a C, maybe even think about trying a 40. Then I'd have to spend on a new set of forms & replacement (or extra) bras. Life ain't fair.

At least I could pass some 38Bs to the wife if she developed some more tolerance

partially I agree with Charlotte.
Yes, I have self-made breastforms in different sizes. On the one hand, some of them really do not fit in some clothes and they also do not harmonize. Well with casual outfit, bigger breasts are visually ok, as the outfit will hide most proportional mismatches. On the other hand, when wearing tops, shirts, nice dresses or summer outfit, the smaller ones look more accurate, even my waist is too big for them (working hard on reducing waist size)

So sometimes I only wear breast enhancers, and they look reasonable while sometimes a C or D cup looks better. I guess I can go with C or D most of the time, when I get my silicone breat-form some day.

Just don't worry about that. I am still experimenting with the bust size and this is an advantage we CDers have over GG - they can't change their bust size in a minute

Good point.
I know my SO would love to have the option to change her bust size. Mind you it would be only the once and that would upwards a few notches.
